It's been running a decat for all my ownership so far, and the EML was always on then as it was tied up out of the way and the post-cat blocked off. When I use Torque (Fairly unreliable I know) it gives me bank 1 sensor 2, so i presume post cat? It could just be it's not had time to properly...
Been for my MOT today and unfortunately the car failed on 3 things... Handbrake efficiency, lambda reading too high, and headlight too low.
I just fitted a genuine (used) cat to the clio, but kept the existing lambda sensors, however I'm led to believe that the post cat sensor may be failing as...
New handbrake cables fitted today. Unfortunately a bolt snapped on the heatshield, and another had been snapped by a PO. Will have to get these drilled out properly as I don't know how much of a good job my cables ties will do.

Yep, snapped.

Have you eliminated the knock potentially coming from an exhaust mounting? Probably something you've already done but just thought i'd put it out there! Sound travels weirdly so often you can think it's from one place when it's from another. Can you not recreate the knock anywhere with the car...
It's a PO who has bodged my cat fitting kit. One side looks like a genuine spring, the other looks like one that was lying around. Cheers for the link. I think i'll just go genuine though for now.
Just removed my decat in preparation for the removal of my handbrake cables/fitment of my cat and found that the fitting kit is basically missing all the parts apart from the spring, a washer and a nut.
I had been hoping to re-use this really but it has a different sized spring on one side too...
Replaced the glovebox/boot light with some LED's to match the rest of the cars lighting and got it up fairly high on axle stands ready for tomorrows replacement of handbrake cables/ fitting of cat.
Plenty of penetrating oil was applied over everything in preparation, so hopefully i dont have...
Great update Mark, thanks a lot for the pictures! The guide style handbrake replacement will definitely help when it comes to doing mine but it looks pretty self explanatory really, think rusty bolts will be the main issue.
Am I right in saying that you've also blocked off the fuel breather with...
Sounds decent if not too hard on your back! My decat will need removing anyway so kinda all fits into one job which is nice.
I did have a look at the bolts today and they didn't actually look that bad. Will see!
On a ramp? Looking forward to doing mine in the rain on my back 😅😂
I'll keep an eye out on your thread though mate to give me more of an idea on what I face.
Might get some spray on those heatshield bolts tomorrow actually.
Cheers mate! :kissingheart:
Wish my handbrake cables would hurry up and arrive. Cats also on its way, hopefully tomorrow before work but doubtful.
Had drips from the decat - centre silencer today on a cold start which is just condensation I guess? Not a great sign it's blowing though. I'll take...
There is a height adjuster at the front on the LHS. Make sure you're right down haha. Could be the makeup of the seat bases though too so you don't sink as much. Give them a measure.
