2nd vote for good condition T420/T430 Lenovo with plenty change (from a 420 anyway) ive setup loads for people
the ktec I had (centreline) came with an adaptor to fit to the standard cat or you could run it with their decat/sports cat for full 2.5" which I done with a silenced decat.
needs ECU mapping to support it, it will let you tweak it slightly but as your finding over boost protection puts a stop to it to protect your engine...
not had any experience with consumables on these yet but as far as I can see its basically similar to a 172/182, expensive belt changes, no fancy front hubs etc like the 197 to worry about. same size front brakes.
No rust given they are still under 10yrs old, interesting to see what happens as...
My mates selling this wee 1.4 16v, hes looking for more than £500 but I'm sure if your able to stretch a tad he would be willing to drop a tad!

yeah mate 7000rpm limiter is a couple hundred rpm under the 172/182 engine, small flat spot around 4000rpm then pickup from 5000rpm+
it feels like an under powered 172 with dodgy cam timing :tongueclosed: but tbh, it never feels slow as its so light with a short ratio box, even when you pull...
if its the same setup on the facelift as the pre facelift then I had a sunroof in my GT and I would NEVER have another it used to rattle rattle rattle constantly and I couldn't find out where it was coming from, forum was full of complaints too. Climate is nice though!
yeah 100% its a hoot...
yeah the ride is pretty stiff, I don't find it too bad though, road noise is bad though! makes her old Dynamique DCi feel like a Rolls Royce lol
So I see! this one is due a wheel refurb but I'm not doing it yet due to her track record lol!
Good power there, no desire to modify this one...
Just picked this up for my mrs,
ive always wrote them off as just not having enough power to be fun, my old tuned Twingo GT used to eat them for breakfast in a straight line, but this thing has really got under my skin, so much so she has driven it once and taken my DCi Dynamique S Clio to...
is it a rattle or a buzz, both of mine make an odd buzz at a certain rpm cant remember it off the top of my head, one is a 2014 one a 2016, with 90k and 5k miles on them, exact same f**king noise! does my nut in
Interesting to hear what you think of the Dyn S 120, about to order one to replace...
I would imagine so, ive never had a poke about the the twingo engine in great detail but I think the block will be the same so it will just be the head. as far as I know the mk2 k4m clios didn't have VVT and the MK3 ones did, but the ecu in the mk2 will support VVT being the same as the 172...
yeah K4M and K4J engines are basically identical just with a different stroke I assume they use the same ECU but not 100% as ive never really looked into it, Siemens Sirius32 on the 1.6 16v anyway, same as the 172
any car is worth remapping if done properly and that's the key statement. Your neighbour getting the files for free unless hes a nice generous guy who works for a highly regarded mapping company is a walk away moment.
best way to increase power on the 1.4 16v if your set on mapping it is wait...
that's the one, bought it brand new, went bang 1500 miles later, they made a c**t of repairing it, I fought them for 9 months, RUK, Arnold Clark and RCI Finance all involved, got no where, traded in £4k out of pocket when it was 11 months old! - older and wiser now I would have point blank...
r27 was my favourite car I owned out of ph1 172, ph2 172, 172 cup, 182, 182 trophy, 197 r27 and 200 with cup pack. - the 200 would have been it but mine was a heap. yellow R27 with 200 box, rack, and dampers would be perfect for me
that was always the mk3s appeal it was never compromised, the short 6th gear was s**t on the motorway but when you change at the shift light in 5th and it only drops about 300rpm then its fantastic when your pushing on!
I do a load of miles in my Dynamique S Clio IV and I never get the urge to take the trophy these days, I only drive it when I'm going out for a blast, I have no want to sit in traffic or drive thru town in it! and its 100% standard, hardly a race car - Lovely seating position, arm rest, the best...
I done 500 miles a week in my 197, all B roads with a stretch of motorway at 5am start 8pm finish so it was quiet roads and was a riot, I loved it although it kept breaking lol done the same trip for a bit in my 172 cup and it was equally as fun but I was exhausted when I got home lol the mk3 is...
FANTASTIC! that's just the solution I'm looking for! will get in touch with him once ive got the car built. Yeah went for the TRW manifold and downpipe, waiting on it turning up. still to sort out a turbo, will stick a project thread up when parts start arriving!
