    Fantoms budget PH1 Track car

It smooths out the torque curve a bit and gives some more midrange, or it should do. So it might be that you notice.

    Fantoms budget PH1 Track car

That's very cheap. I got my stuff for £70 and thought it was cheap. I run shorter studs and closed nuts though. The car is looking good on track :) happy with the induction kit?

Marongoni or Direzza DZ03G or Dmack?????

I ran H1, they needed a couple of good laps to warm up. Once they were warm they stuck like shot to a blanket and didn't wear much at all.

Marongoni or Direzza DZ03G or Dmack?????

The Dunlop are better in the dry yes. If that's what your after then don't bother with anything else or just get full slicks. They need to be warmed up, they'll try and kill you if not, on the road they aren't so bad as the tarmac isn't as smooth as on track. The R888 are better in that respect.

Marongoni or Direzza DZ03G or Dmack?????

I have some brand new R888 195/50-R15 in Medium compound for £400 The Dunlops are very good though. I even used them on the road and on a damp track.

    Longer brake pedal travel

Cheers Mr. Fox Although if I do it to the handbrake light I'll lose that....does the handbrake light go through the ABS module and wiring?

Fun little cars. I dream of owning a Racing Puma. That ride height though...

    Longer brake pedal travel

I've fitted a new 22.2mm cup master cylinder to remove the ABS on my ph1 and it's all bled correctly, no spongy pedal and the brakes are strong. However, the pedal travel is longer than it was. Should it be like that? Also the ABS light is on (obviously) but I've also got the SERV, STOP and...

    Upgrading my 1.2

TBF at 18 you're doing well having a car and insurance. I'd just put some decent speakers in to enjoy the tunes a bit more and leave it be. And then when your insurance starts to drop get something a bit quicker.

sonny172cup "track car to race car project"

The Wilwoods have a smaller pad area, this would mean the pad would heat up more and dependant on the compound it might actually be getting to a point where its working more effectively than with the same pad in the standard callipers. Having four pistons should give you more modulation. I...

    The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy

Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6] Sounds like mine on idle with itbs and piper cams. Graph looks very similar too (like most itb'd and cammed Clios!) So I know how well it will go now :) Bet it was worth the wait!

197 engine and box into 172

Later 197 box or 200 box with the longer 5th and 6th with a R26 4.07 final drive would be ok (if that's possible). Not much difference in terms of top gear compared with the JC5-129.

    Trick Front Differential

I went with quaife. Worked out cheaper, I do more road miles than track and I didn't want to remove the box.

    Custom springs

Crashy isn't just the spring rate. It's also down to the dampers. It would probably be low enough with some 250lb 6" springs. I've got a pair in the garage not far off that, I'll have to check what they are.
