i really rate 1144's on the road, i run them on genuine discs on my trophy and they survived fine on a midnight blast down dukes pass glued to my mates m3. Used them on my flamer on brembo HC discs, braided lines and superblue fluid and they were better
hes asking about holding its value though not making money. I read that as what is he going to be able to own for x amount of years and not loose money on depreciation. That was my interpretation of it anyway
that would be the last of my worries tho. I could get every one of the 5000 pounds...
was on a run from Stirling to Manchester the other day and it averaged 74mpg with 4 people and 4 big bags in the car.
knocking about town which I mostly do it does about 65mpg, that's just plodding about, if its a week when im rushing about running late and kicking its head in does 58-59mpg
UPDATE:
was going to sell it on but every time I come to do it I just cant part with it!! so decided to keep it until the summer anyway! (but probably longer!!) so needed something to amuse me....
as it sits now at standard ride height with its new Twingo suspension!
^ what that man says!!
i like arctic blue such an underrated colour. Suppressed surprized you bought it as you were impressed by the handling then stuck adopted springs on it though!!
ive never had fuel pump issues or any fuel system issues so far touch wood.
only issues I had was a 170k mile dci 65 whos gearbox shat it, looks like it had never had an oil change.
my current one is that good a runner im trying to find somewhere to keep it as im going to look at a few R26's...
love them in Oyster, couldn't buy one without a Diff though! transforms the car, not like the clio days where it was just a set of stiffer springs and dampers and it was no biggie!
better cars for the money out there mine cost me 1200, its straight, full history, same owner for the last 8yrs, done 20k hastle free miles in the last year, its on 150k but still drives mint and keeps my trophy mint!
is what you are slavering! 197/200/dci 106 box is lightyears ahead of a jc5 in feel, and in my experiance are both as reliable as each other ive yet to kill one!
step away from the crack pipe yet you agree with me that the 172 box is s**t? Lol
drive a 197/200 properly and you wont have any gearbox issjes!
172/182 share box with the dci80
ive got R888's on the trophy and £15 a tyre budgets on the DCI.
i get to work safely no matter what car i drive, yet im probably cornering 3 times slower in the dci and its moving about more! just need to adjust your driving to the conditions/grip available
completely disagree with that, i wouldnt spend £600 on r888 on my dci as i dont need that level of grip but on a 172/182 i dont see why anyone would want to save money by not having the best tyres they could buy. Unless they drove it purely because they liked the colour
"why do you keep an old clio in the garage, take it out, wash it and put it back in?"
"thought you were into cars? if so why do you drive that old thing?" - becoz DCI!
fair points tbf...
