Is it worth getting a 200 mapped which has a decat system and cone filter?
Or is it a waste of time and would it be better to put the stock cats on to get rid of the running issue decat creates.
Car has an original main cat with it, this can go back in but I’m told the toyo manifold and main...
Did Syon park classic show yesterday, took couple of F’s up with my mate.
It’s hilarious watching the reactions to the F40 on the road. People risking their phones out the window on motorway etc, crazy.
Can’t attach pics?
As it’s been a year or so have you been through the wiring connectors? They have a habit of growing corrosion on these cars.
I had throttle issues and turned out to be the main harness at the bulkhead. It’s worth checking that plug (under washer bottle, remove 10mm bolt and pull apart) and...
Aside from the rattle I think they’re awesome. Mine and my mate’s cars are pretty similar but he has a PMS shifter, it feels so much more fun to drive with the shifter over mine. I get back in mine and it’s like stirring a pudding in comparison.
Sounds interesting.
My mate has one and I’ve always assumed it’s a design fault as his seems worse in ‘stick forward’ gears.
Be interesting to see if Zeropoint get theirs to work better.
Always amazes me why more manufacturers never used the same head rest design as the Clio. It’s such a good idea to pivot from the top and is actually genuinely comfortable to lay your head back onto.
Suede is awesome.
I have a really nice (found it still new) Momo suede wheel on mine but I’d recommend a Turn One wheel for reasonable money.
I saw the make and assumed it’d be a branded Chinese cheaply but my friend has one and it’s Italian made (stamped in the back)
OMP is nice too.
I was a big fan of the 4. Had a few of them back in the day. I actually think they’re a better looking car than a 5/6 done right. Shame about the engines (but then most have 6 engines now)
Race car maybe but I don’t see the benefit for road and track days?
Maybe I’m just more sensitive to the noises & vibrations but it just goes right through me, made me reluctant to even Rev the car.
I drove my mate’s 182 the other day which is on the deck on coil overs but it felt so much...
Removed the ktec engine mount and fitted a stock one! Ahhhh, so much better! God knows why anyone would want one.
And on that subject, anyone want to buy one. It’s totally awesome and transforms the car. Such great feel of the engine and everything will develop cool motorsport sounds (rattles)
Wouldn’t say Zeropoint is just for show, they look well made.
Not sure where you’ve seen the details as to what comes with it? I haven’t seen any info on their site for the 172/182 shifter, only the one pic on Facebook.
They look extremely well made and I’ve no doubt they’ll perform well...
Yes. When I did the belts on mine the original crank pulley looked ropey too. I didn’t want to risk leaving it to fall apart after all the rest of the work so new one from pure motorsport held up the job.
Been watching the hill climb tv channel on YT today. Live coverage and few clios there.
Got to love YT on your TV on a rainy Sunday. Lots of live streams of the racing going on these days, 750 motorclub and GT racing etc.
PMS is awesome and aside from the noise I don’t see why it wouldn’t be great on a daily.
I was really impressed when I drove my mate’s 182 with PMS. The noise is shockingly bad though, I’d have to sort that a bit. It transforms the drive for me and made me want one in mine badly!
If you...
Aux belt is without doubt the biggest timing belt killer. My old car’s timing belt was 9 years old and wasn’t cracked (ex had the car for years before I got it back). The aux belt Was ready to pop and wipe out the engine.
As above, do not whip the rocker cover off as you’ll have a Jack-in-the-box surprise of cams.
The cover is the upper cam caps too, all in one.
If you’ve got oil on top it’ll be the bolt holes or the solenoid o ring.
Technically it is possible (as I’ve done it on another non sport Clio) to...
It’s sad seeing them rot now isn’t it, I would imagine that’ll be toast looking at the state of it (and what that chap posted of his cut away the other day on here)
What’s annoying me is the newer cars are too complex trash and not as fun so it just feels like my type of car is going to be dead...
Another car that was an unexpected like of mine. Bit like the Clio V6 in that I didn’t want one but ended up with one.
Got to be one of the best sounding stock cars (in the normal car world)
Always thought they’d be awesome with 100bhp more though but really loved mine.
Not sure how they...
Where the front seats bolt to the car, between the seat frame and the floor pan there’s 4 plastic spacers which raise the seat slightly.
It’s just one of the two most common complaints of these cars, steering wheel and seat being too high.
