Honestly I felt the same as you when I had my totally original 172 but I bought another one that had some mods already done and... it’s even more fun to drive without the bus steering wheel and a bit more induction noise. Not overly scientific but I definitely look forward to driving my new car...
Is there a guy that does that?
But no, although can’t really compare hand Tools to a new car. Sometimes you just gotta catch that impact on the boot when your hands are full. I baby’d my SO impacts when I got them but once you’ve been out in the rain/snow/mud etc a few times it all goes out...

I’ve been purposely dropping my SO gun for over 10 years (I mean juggling a gearbox or sub frame and dropping it onto my foot to soften the blow and it often twatting the floor). I’ve accidentally dropped the Milwaukee twice and it’s destroyed the battery. Won’t be buying another SO...
Bit random but... Has anyone used a Chinese shell for the Milwaukee M12 batteries?
My 6.0 battery shell is destroyed now after dropping it. Not only has the inner red part smashed but one clip to hold it into the impact has broken off too.
Was just looking on eBay and a 6.0 battery is £60...
Don’t want to be a d1ck but I think you’re pi55ing in the wind asking that money. My car has double that mileage and doesn’t look anywhere near as worn inside or as used underneath. Even my last one (that had 135k) didn’t have any of that wear on the climate buttons (?)
Turinis aren’t far off that now.
It does make you reluctant when you see prices but it’s all relative. Hopefully if you’re a petrolhead then the other purchases you make inflate too... unless you’ve gone into some mundane POS to ‘save money’ which is usually code for lose £10k in depreciation.
This is what I always think. Aside from the steering feel the Clio is a much better car. No way is a 205 GTI worth more than a 1*2 to drive. I had them back 25 years ago and they were ropey even then. The 1.9 promised so much when you touched the throttle then it was just flat and...
They’re still cheap at £3k, stop pi55ing about it’ll only get worse.
My mate is after one (and the bloke has a collection of exotica so not exactly short of a few bob) but because I paid £1500 for my last one he’s got this mental block that he can’t pay more than that.
I get so much enjoyment...
I blame the notification thing. You click to see who’s quoted you etc and then end up replying and it snowballs from 220bhp remap certificates to “doing the Luge”
Not in the same league as this one I know but I had a low mileage phase 1 V6 which owed me about £6500.
Took it in px for my Evo.. the Evo owed me £7500. Had V6 offered for PX but I didn’t want the Clio really so said I’d want a grand on top and bloke jumped at it.
Actually loved the V6 after...
Sod the decat, just take it off and buy an eBay BM cat and scribe “haha” into it for if/when it does get nicked.
I can’t stand the smell of a decat car these days. Decat vs cheap cat is similar price too and no extra noise with a cat.
I’m old enough to remember when they became a legal...
My car is rattling itself apart with the ktec engine mounts! Jeez it’s harsh. I’ve got tape on my head unit (cheap jvc) as it sounds like a blender with a load of plastic BB’s in at certain revs. Think my door rivets have come loose and now my clocks are vibrating.
This was the channel, I like his vids as he traces a graph to show the power over time which is a good representation of what’s going on rather than just a number at the end. ie for me I don’t sit there hammering on stuff for 10secs if it won’t come undone (as it pisses me off with the racket)...
That does look ideal actually, thanks I’ll look into that. Is the guts of the 1/4” ok for manually cracking bigger size nuts & bolts though?
I did consider the battery thing being the reason (or maybe the price being able to buy it naked if you had M18 batts) but a naked M18 stubby is £220 and...
Did anyone see the recent vid on YT (can’t remember the name of the channel but it’s torque tester or something where he seems to purely test impacts on a torque machine) He did the M12 stubby vs the new M18 stubby and the 12 was just as pokey. Even he said it doesn’t make sense why Milwaukee...
As an MOT tester I can say they won’t look like they’ll pass unless they’re hotter than OE. Get them hot enough and suddenly they kick into life.
I don’t buy the ‘they wear out’ theory My old one had one in my ex’s & my ownership for maybe 7/8 years and was fine. My work mate has it now and...
Has anyone added a centre silencer to the ktec stealth system?
I thought adding a cat would shut mine right up, but it’s still silly loud.
My latest thought is to take it to an exhaust place and get them to fit a centre silencer. Just wondering if anyone has done this and whether it really...
I’ve not driven it. It doesn’t go out much let’s say and been off the road for a while. I changed the oil and it went for tank inspection but I’ve still got to do the timing belts before it goes out properly this year. I’m sure he’ll let me have a go when we do get out as he’s put me on the...
