Mine on 153000 from new still makes me smile but I accept it's time for an upgrade after 8 years. The 200t may be a second slower than the ST/Clio 200 CUP on a lap (see auto express shoot out) but it's quicker to 60 then the competition and breaks in the shortest distance a full 7 metres shorter...
I believe that was a gamble Renault were prepared to make especially as sales in the RS have dropped in the UK over the last four years. So offering a less track focused car may be their way of widening the appeal (the UK is no longer their focus) of the RS before bringing back a harder version...
You're right but as its an RS, which so far have only improved the standard car, I have faith it won't disappoint - it may be blind faith but it's my gamble. If I was going to buy another make then yes I would be test driving the hell out of them before ordering. I know what the usual niggles...
I have no problem with people rubbishing a car but at least drive it. The interior of the ST doesn't do it for me centre console looks too much like an early 90's nokia - too many small buttons and busy. I loved the 200 styling and was so tempted to get one but they hadn't changed the interior...
Ouch am I missing something? The standard car drives like a treat so don't have any doubts about the new RS version. We don't all thrash them around a track. It has what I want from it, subtle styling, four doors - helps get the Mrs onside when buying new, cruise control - ST doesn't come with...
People seem to be under the impression that renault have built a track car and moaning about paddles not being fitted to the wheel. As pointed out above it's not, it's for everyday use hence paddles on the column. If you're that bothered about changing down or up mid corner use the gear stick...
I phoned them up before the order date and they got back to me that afternoon, so then waited until the available to order date. phoned the local dealers to see if they could match the price and they couldn't so FCD got the sale. They've ordered the car through Renault Maidstone which will then...
Can't complain at that FCD managed to strip £3000 off my ordered 200t so paying just over base price fully spec'd.
Sometimes it pays to have an id card ;)
Black all the way :) b**ch to keep clean but looks the must nuts for at least 10 seconds before you see the dust start to settle.
White would have been good if you could colour the door, grill and defuser inserts, but later down the line when you get bored and decide to add colour black goes...
It does just add the cup spoiler............... and lower the suspension, can't see what people are on about when they say it does stand out from the standard clio. It has different front and rear bumpers same as the 172/182/197/200 have...... so its not 20mm wider big deal.
What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster is it a monster?
No it's in the garage :p
I'm buying a new RS 200t and don't give a stuff about depreciation (or its review in autoexpress against the ST & GTi) my 182 wasn't the best build quality but it has lasted me 8 years from new. The mrs...
I was followed along the M8 last night by a white Clio IV and through the rear view mirror it looked bloody good, didn't look to high either, I slowed down even more so it could come past but it pulled off at the next slip road.
To date I've only seen three in the flesh on the road. Colours...
What ever car people decide to buy if they are passionate about it they will defend it to the hilt and give it's faults a damn good ignoring unless it just doesn't start :(
