You're a fooker Brett :P haha!
Aye as Brett said, solenoid wire popped off so my starter motor wasn't working. Literally just sorted it about half an hour ago.
I did mine Ford Graphite grey a few months ago and D.I.Y too. Got the odd chip in the wheels but nothing that's noticeable. Prepping the wheels is a pain in the arse but the actual spraying is a doddle.
Those are impossible to avoid, you can cut through one road to avoid about 3 of them but that's it. Suspension killers those bumps :|
I thought I did going off the diagram I had but wasn't sure. Still not had chance to adjust anything yet due to the car being off the road.
I don't think it's failed or was faulty. Just didn't seem to be the correct fitment for what ever reason. As Steve said, it bolts straight up perfectly and looks identical to the Genuine starter but the motor just spins and doesn't catch the flywheel.
I couldn't, the number was worn off the old starter. The number was on a sticker on the side of the motor and was unreadable.
Daft thing was, it was a bosch starter motor (the same as the renault starter motor) Lad at GSF cross referenced their numbers on his computer and it matched Renault's...
Has anybody else ever had problems with non-Genuine starter motors?
Got one from GSF today and after spending a while fitting it, the bloody thing wouldn't work. The starter it's self was fine but the shaft that pops out of the motor wasn't long enough to catch the flywheel. Looking at both...
Well I do have to plan routes avoiding speed bumps but I can live with it. Don't want to adjust it again cos it took me ages to get it to the way it is now lol.
Yeah I have the rears currently set to the hardest setting and the fronts set about 180 degrees for the hardest setting. Worked well until now.
How come you think the ARB isn't worth it on a Cup? Genuine question by the way not picking on what you've said.
Fitted on this afternoon and just taken it for a little run.
Although the turn in is sharper, the front end feels as if it's skipping slightly and the back end seems more nervous, not dangerously nervous but it wouldn't take alot of provoking for it to step out.
Just wondering if I've fitted...
Just wondering if there's any kind of warranty on genuine starter motors. Had a new starter motor fitted about 9months ago and it's completely packed up tonight.
Cheers mate :D
Thanks :P
Cheers mate, If I boot it at low revs, you can hear alot of induction roar then. It's at high revs when the exhaust note takes over
Thanks mate, and hero? I don't know the meaning of the word :P
K-tec Stealth with a small silencer in the mid section, decat and a ph-1 airbox lol.
Not entirely sure why it sounds so different to most k-tec stealths, backbox has probably burnt all the baffles away and is hollow. lol
Haha! Never again.
Lol Should have heard it when there was no silencer in the mid section :P
I've been getting alot of the "old" comments just recently, having to deal with the rasp must be taking it's toll on me :P
Cheers mate :)
