I thought the same 1.4 16V engine thats in the 1998+ mk2 Ph1. Was also put in some Mk1 Ph3 shells that are called Clio 1.4S Maxim

That is what i thought and then they introduced the 1.4s in 16V in 1996.

Could well be the hazard switch as the circuit for the indicators run though it. With out a hazard switch none of the indicators would work.

Its near the passenger side driveshaft seal on the gearbox, it has a green or brown connector.

Um if hazards work and indicators don't. I thought they both work of the same relay ? can't remember 100% what one but if you open the inside fuse box turn the hazards on you will hear it clicking.
