Lol. It doesn't sound good with the decat fitted though. The noise from it rattles my interior that much it puts the SERV and airbag lights on and off. I won't have it fitted for long, I only managed two days last with it fitted last time lol.
Just sounds really dodgy that, I'd just expect the so called "experts" to be the last people to tell someone to carry on driving with warning lights flashing at you.
I'll be putting my decat back on sometime next week if the weather is dry, my exhaust noise levels will be rivaling yours soon Ben :rasp:
Talking of KK's donuts, I've lived 5 minutes away from there for over 2 years and still never tried one
Oil hasn't just been split down there when topping the oil up has it? I suspected mine was leaking not long after buying the car. I mopped the oil up and there's been no more evidence of oil around there. Worth trying to clean it and keeping an eye on it.
Another thing to consider is if you ever sell the car, how would you explain why the wheel well had been welded up?
I know an enthusiast would probably know why but trying to explain why to a general driver may put a potential buyer off.
I personally wouldn't but I prefer the stealth look on...
Unlucky mate, it does get abit treturous over there during this time of year. I've had a few close calls over there myself, also had someone crash in to me as well.
Mine came out with very minimal effort.
What causes them to be a pain to remove? is all the wet and crap off the roads hitting the underside of the car corroding the bolts?
Oh are you talking about the uprated engine mounts?
I think ideally you'd need to replace them all with the uprated version because more stress would be put on the standard mounts if you only replaced one with the uprated version which would cause them to wear out quicker. Don't quote me on...
Yeah I fitted mine myself, like I say it's pretty simple to do, just got to make sure you support the engine underneath before you take the old mount off.
Cheapest place I've seen for the mounts is EuroCarParts, think they charge something in the region of £60 for the upper engine mount.
Glad you've got it sorted mate and yeah you've gotten lucky there, could have ended up in a serious situation.
Oh by the way, I've been meaning to ask you something about your car, when I was behind you on that Rivi meet I noticed red bushes (I think) along your rear suspension, have you got...
Lol. You'll never be able to please everyone, there's always an awkward cnut :rasp:
Depending on what time I'm done on the Saturday I may have a drive up there then if you're there till 3/4ish.
I mean the nuts in the far right in the attached image. They sit right at the top of the strut inside the engine bay. When my spring popped out of the top hat, the nut in question had dropped about 10mm down and was sitting directly on the turret where as the one on the other side was sitting...
Quick way to check is to lift up your bonnet and look at the top nut in the engine bay, you know the thing that screws to the top of the shocker? When my spring popped out, that top nut was sitting lower than the other side.
Other than that, it's like you've said, jacking the car up to...
I've done mine without compressors. Just have someone to hand to give you a lift when rebuilding the shocker. It's abit difficult trying to push the topmount and top hat down whilst screwing the nut down on the top of the strut.
Heard some horror stories whilst dismantling struts with bigger...
m.o.t til nxt year july! havnt got the big m.o.t sheet but i have the square bit ripped off as proof on m.o.t,,:
Yes I believe him
rear end of the car paint turns gold in the sun! if u noticed
Just LOL!
I probably have, I was probably attention whoring cos I was pissed off with it :rasp:lol. Yeah I got it sorted eventually, had a new starter motor and it's been fine since. (famous last words)
Does sound fuel pump related because pumping the throttle will push more fuel through but I would be...
Yeah, really easy to do, the panel the switch sits in pulls out with abit of persuasion, just disconnect the connecting plug that connected to the switch and the switch just pushes out of the panel.
I had to replace mine as something had snapped inside the switch and was keeping the circuit...
You just said that to be different and not follow what everyone else said didn't you :rasp: lol.
Think the Vee would have it off the line but the charged 172 would eventually overtake it, but as Chris says "only one way to find out".
