With the starter being so close to the manifold, can the heat from the manifold cause problem, well more so for the solenoid because it doesn't seem to be protected from the heat?
Asking because my starter has been playing up again, so much so I couldn't get it started today and had to call...
Got taken out in a 197 today and I was very impressed with it, I know it'd probably be different again if I was to drive one but it seemed so much more stable than my Cup. It's definitely better through long fast sweeping bends and felt extremely "grippy" through roundabouts. It seems alot more...
I've been looking at replacing my mounts with these in the near future, as for the extra vibration, I drove Ben's sunflower ph-1 with these mounts fitted and noticed very little extra vibration compared to my cup, not to sure what all the fuss is about to be honest lol.
Have you just gone for...
They take the piss with those speed bumps don't they? There's a road in Irlam, it's just a sea of huge pot holes and cracks yet they decided to put those huge speed bumps on it and not bother repairing the road. It's not like anyone could do anymore than 15mph down there without damaging their...
When I had my rear up on stands while I did my springs I just used the jacking points on the sills. Was on the stands for a few hours due to stubborn bolts that wouldn't loosen and I never had any complications i.e sill bending etc.
Maybe I'm just getting old but unless I'm on flat smooth roads, I can't stand having to slow down to a crawl to negotiate speed bumps and pot holes. My old FRP ZS was extremely low and stiff and I was constantly catching my exhaust and manifold on things. Don't get me wrong when I was in the...
Last time I checked on k-tec's website I think they were £48ish +vat.
Normally rumbling is wheel bearing related. I've never had a wheel bearing go on any of my cars so I'm not to sure to be honest. Famous last words lol
Sounds just like mine. Problem with mine is the starter motor or the solenoid. Next time it does it just give it a bang with something and it should fire up if that's your problem.
Sounds like a knackered damper that. They normally drop their oil when their life has expired. Has the ride become more crashy and has the handling of the car become worse?
When I was around 10-11ish, aload of my mates at the time were doing it, I never bothered as car badges didn't interest me lol. Remember one lad ripping a metal Renault badge off a car (can't remember what car it was) and leaving a big hole in the bootlid.
Make sure you take it above the magical 5k revs when you test drive one ;) Beware though you maybe sacrificing some reliability for fun if you get one. lol
I thought this car badge thieving died out in the late 80's early 90's? Been reading a few stories on here of badges being nicked. Some scummy c***s will take anything.
Oh I'd definitely keep the Golf then, always been a big fan of the mk4 R32s. As for the Mini's, I've just never taken to them, not saying they're a bad car or anything because I've never driven one, just not a car I'd have though.
Still alot that though isn't it? Mine tends to use oil on long 100+ mile trips on motorways and when the car's driven hard, other than that it has reasonable oil consumption.
There's a guide on here for it. Are you going for the mirror finish? It's a long and boring process.
