Yeah it's alot easier to remove them, fuel rail guard comes off easily enough, just need a long 10mm socket and be careful not to drop the nuts down in the engine bay (I managed to do that :o)
Inlet Plenum can be removed without having to replace the gasket, just have to be careful when...
After a couple of posts I've made here and there on people's threads blaming a recently fitted upper engine mount, it turned out I was blaming the wrong thing lol.
I knew the centre exhaust mount was tired when I fitted my exhaust but I left it thinking it wasn't overly important. Anyway I...
I'd imagine it'll be either the upper engine mount or the upper gearbox mount, I had the knocking noise you're talking about so I replaced the upper engine mount and it cured it. Although after 2months it's come back so I think it's knackered again. I'm looking at getting the uprated mounts from...
When I needed a new driveshaft on a zetec-s, there was play in it when you pulled at it and also there was a large damp patch on it. Whether that'd be the same story with the Clio I don't know.
Wonders how long until Roy tells you to get on a track :rasp:
How long have you had the car? It might be just a case of that you've gotten use to it now. A couple of fairly quick cars I've had in the past, when I've 1st started driving them they push you back in your seat due to acceleration...
Lol. The bolt completely snapped off that one eventually, I was just lucky the engine didn't drop.
Yeah I know, I only went down that line because I was abit skint after spending £££'s after my non-starting problem.
Yeah it's knocking again, I replaced the upper engine mount as it was knackered. Not sure if you remember the pictures I posted of it? You commented on the top part being welded. Anyway after replacing it the exact same noise has come back and it looks like the rubber has split again. I've not...
All depends on how long you plan on keeping the car really. If you plan on keeping it for x amount of years then it'll work out cheaper in the long run as the uprated mounts will more than likely last alot longer than the standard mounts.
Can get the standard mounts from EuroCarParts even cheaper, just been there and priced them up.
upper engine mount 49.95 +vat
upper gearbox mount £12 +vat
Not sure on the lower gearbox mount.
I've been considering the uprated mounts from k-tec though but I've still not justified paying near...
I really wouldn't go that wide if I was you, my Cup had that width of tyre on the wheels when I bought it. Unless I was on a perfectly flat and smooth road every time I put the power down the car would suffer from horrific torque steer and when the wet weather came along, it got 10 times worse.
Yeah, I took them out earlier and noticed they'd both blown. Pretty sure they both went at the same time because I tend to check my lights quite often, also I can see my headlights in the garage door when it's dark and they're turned on. They weren't cheap bulbs either :dead:.
My dipped beam decided it didn't want to work last night, the side lights and main beam work though.
I've done a search and found that it could be down to a faulty fuse or relay but from what I've read people who've had this problem don't get that green headlight light lighting up on the dash...
Out of the 2 I'd probably pick the FRP, Never driven one but I had an engine from one in a ZS so I know it's got a fair bit of poke and I prefer the look of the Puma. They're alot rarer than the 182 (500 built I think?) plus those seats in the Puma are amazing.
I'd personally go for the Sportlines (the other springs Eibach do) I got a price from Renault for a new rear spring and they quoted me £80+ just for one.
Just searched through my old threads and found this reply from Tompoms.
give the previous owner a call mate.
I had exactly the same thing with my 182, previous owner admitted it when I had a chat to him as I had noticed the increased limit & it pulled very well for a standard map, managed to...
If you've got any contact details of the previous owner you could ask them? I asked the same question a while ago when I found out about my raised limiter and I was told there's a way to check the ECU about previous Maps. Tompoms will be able to describe that alot better.
