I like the yellow in to blue colour scheme on that front badge Da. Car looks good too. Not a fan of the black and Blue on your 172 though Carl, have you managed to iron out the problems you've had with your car yet?
I've managed to break mine twice since owning the car, they're really flimsy and it doesn't take much to break them. I snapped mine on a pair of those D.I.Y metal ramps but managed to repair it. Not surprising there's alot of them without splitters really.
LOL! Can just imagine the scene, feet off the ground, doing your best to try not to fall inside the engine bay :rasp:.
When mine decides to stick it always seems to do it at the worst possible time, i.e when it's pissing down with rain.
My starter motor is exactly the same, it'll go for weeks/months without any problem then randomly decide to play up and start sticking, it'll do it for a few days or so then start working fine. Giving the solenoid a whack normally solves the problem so under Powey's advise I carry a long metal...
Mine's the same until it's warmed up, think nearly every 1*2 does it. It feels awful to drive as well and my exhaust pops until it's been running for a few minutes lol.
Not sure how much you'll get charged for modding your cat pipe as it was already done on mine when I bought the car but I paid £75 for a custom decat at ProSpeed.
You could always get your original cat pipe modified. Mine has been modified (by the previous owner) so it has a joint under the car, basically in the same place where a 182 would have a joint. Makes it a hell of alot easier swapping from decat to cat for M.O.T times.
Edit: You'd also need a...
What width are the tyres that are currently fitted? I had similar issues as you've described and it turned out the 215/40's sized tyres were the problem. Once I went back to the 195/45 size it felt alot more stable when accelerating hard.
I can imagine it gets annoying after a while, I know it would be for me personally and it would become tiresome having to replace the back box after it melted the baffles in it.
