No, Ph1 172 or 172 Cup sensor in the gearbox (where the speedo cable would usually go), then there's a plug in the Ph1 engine loom which connects to it, depending whether Beanie left it in his loom or not. The lack of speedo cable was one of the main reasons for me running them.
Is it Jords diagram you have? You need the red and grey connectors with a short length of wire attached from a Ph1 172 loom, then join them to the relevant wires that go to the mk1 plugs as per that diagram. Easy enough, just a bit of patience and a steady hand with the soldering iron. Well...
Re: 172 in a mk1, Superfastdan's very very long project....
Did they come with the Konigsports? They will be if so. No obvious external adjuster. From memory, slide the black dust cover out the way, then on the top of the shock there should be a cap that's removeable. Under there is a push...

Good work. Same suspension setup as I had on it. Where have you set the rear shocks out of the 3 positions? I ran them as firm as poss, made turn in a bit sharper and kept it lively.
Yeah I was having a quick look yesterday and K-tec sell the round tipped backbox alone for £250, quite hefty I thought. I'll maybe see about getting this one modified instead. No great rush either way though!
Also quite fancy an R26.r spoiler, thoughts?
Cheers. I could have bought something a bit less sensible if I'd known a van was going to be on the cards, but I'm happy with it for the time being! 283hp no doubt helps.

Yep, as said it's the old Miltek. Not ever so keen on the style of the tips, so I might change them at some...
A little update from me. I've not been on here alot recently, partially due to no longer having a Clio (I broke my old Mk1 for bits), but mainly due to a change of job and the daft hours that come with it.
I had a 225 Trophy previously and sold that to buy a Volvo to tow my Clio about. With...
Re: 172 in a mk1, Superfastdan's very very long project....
Spot on. From memory that was with Williams wheels/dunlop slicks, half a tank of juice and my (crash) helmet on the roof. I bet there's 50kg of cage in it though!
Spot on too.
That's brilliant, really sets the wheels off compared to the black.
I'd be interested to see a colour comparison against a normal antracite wheel for future refurb purposes :).
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Glad to see it back to its former self. Can't wait to drive mine again, it's been a while!
Any trackdays planned for this summer or have you been put off a bit now?
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
All the time you've spent chasing me and Jord round in the past without any mishaps, then you have a pathetic little one like that!
Worked for me and plenty of others who've used this method. As said, can be hard work at carpark speeds but fine when you're moving. No problems correcting slides/lock to lock like someone mentioned (mine was purely a track car). I did re-do that loop pipe after the photo was taken. I left 5cm...
For me personally it was mainly the ease of putting the 172 engine in the Mk1 without all the ancillaries. If I had a Mk2 then I'd probably leave it in. Not saying what this chap should do, just offering a solution if he's decided he definitely wants rid.
