cheers mate, just didnt know if they had the brains for a rebuild in there!
was booked in for 72k service with cambelt change tomorrow, snapped today at 72,200 lol
cambelts just gone in our 1.5yr old 1.2 16v mk3 clio, its in at renault at the moment (lease company sorting it out, car doesnt belong to us)
do renault strip them down and replace the valves etc or do they just change the full engine? (typical renault thing to do lol)
i love my car with mods, ive got a good power gain, better brakes and handling BUT the one thing i will say is i cant wait till my mrs gets her 182 so ive got a standard one that still looks good, goes very well and handles well but without the noise of the exhaust
nope you wont need one, the flexi is there to stop the exhaust being pulled about when the engine moves on its mounts, so when you fit your new decat your standard cat back exhaust will still have a flexi on it to take the movement
apex are fine with shocks too, on standard shocks they are a bit bouncy and crashy but look the tits, you can only pull them off properly on a dci though, looked too high at the front on my 1.2 16v back in the day
spotted you on possibly monday night in dunipace coming from denny way i was coming from the chillihut wi a curry and turned down past the shop to mine!
then spotted you on wednesday, well your car, outside a wee place next to SMS tyres in stirling (your work maby?) was boosting about in ma...
my 172 was all over the road. play in steering etc so i decided to rebuild the bloddy front end. changed....
track rod ends
bottom arms
dampers
and tyres
didnt get any better then found out you could replace the inner track rods and it was sorted!! i thought u had to replace the full rack!
have you ever driven one though? you sound like me untill i took my dci65 a spin! i feckin love it!! keeping in mind i had a 1.2 16v like you and the 10bhp less 65bhp dci65 is a much better drive!
diesel one would be the pick of the bunch for me, could go for the dco106 (think its 106?!) but...
ive had 2 non RS clios and one RS clio....
both non RS clios had a gearbox change in under a years ownership by me
one had a new engine in that time too.
my RS has never needed anything apart from an exhaust and wear and tear parts. and ive owned it twice as long as the others and done twice...
mine pulled well with pannel filter, cat back and decat but in all honesty it wasnt a million miles better than it was standard, nothing like the gain you get on a 172 with they mods obviously but worth while doing all 3, one on its own though wouldnt bother
im with them and regularly change between my dci and my 172, they just charge me the extra in premium in a lump sum (or refund it if im going from 172 to dci)
ok so fitted a new jc5 box to the dci65 the other day and setup linkage, got first to 5th gear no problem but no reverse, but for some reason i cant seem to even get it into reverse using the selector on the box?
any ideas?
