theirs plenty going about over 100k that are reliable.
thing is, the engine will outlive the car no problem, engines are bullet proof when serviced.
the cars are generally Very reliable IF they are driven properly. take it down a backroad daily for 100,000 miles and drive it hard and it...
ive not got the mild steel system your talking about but ive got the 2.5" stainless system and ive ran it with and without a cat.
with a cat you pretty much cant hear it around town, motorway its very quiet, not much louder than standard when your up to speed.
without a cat its not too bad...
looking at about £1500 for everything needed, Matt does conversion kits with everything needed.
most places would charge around £1500ish for labour so your looking at £3000 to do it.
only way i would do it is if like me you could do it yourself and save labour then its a cheap power gain!
ive got a dci65 (not a van but the same really!) its on 150k miles, drives like brand new, as far as i can see its still on the factory clutch, gearbox has just gone with no signs of warning but these things happen
as long as its had regular oil changes it will be fine! yep belt need done but...
i find it usefull for hard launches for limiting wheelspin, on a hard launch it doesnt seem to cut power in any way that slows you down just enough to get the power down.
rarely switch it off on the road to be honest unless im properly driving hard!
yeah that would have been me u got the silver dynamique with anthracite 172 wheels by any chance? if so your exhaust sounded nice!
not sure on the ibiza mate sits in the retail park in stirling most nights ive been there
im running one with a 182 manifold and a k-tec stealth.
i got big gains although i fitted it with a 182 manifold at the same time
it runs fine, idles s**t as they all do as standard even with a cat lol
no flat spots
sounds much better, a bit louder.
usual petrol smell when your in...
it passed me lastnight at about 135mph with a diesel ibiza glued to its ring black one been cutting about with apparently over 400lb.ft of torque (the ibiza i mean!) going the other way or i would have joined in
im still using 195 eagle F1s as i always have so its not a tyre width issue with mine, well atleast its never done it before ive never been a fan of the way these cars drive on 16" wheels, my old one on 195/45/15 15" wheels was 10x better!
its started to get better and better and eventually sorted its self mate which makes me think the odd tyre wear from the few hundred miles before the suspension was set up must have been causing it! strange!
i bought mine for winter mate to save some cash with the intentions of selling it after winter, but now winters over im keeping it, it saves that much cash! check out www.cliodci.net too
road was 100% flat thats why i choose it, it hits the limiter if i find 1 with a slight hill haha starts to hit a very small hill at the end (you'll notice the shift light goes off again)
lol it does look like i was filming it but its just the way my mates holding the cam but not dareing to...
decent torque figure, that must be the RStuner map at a guess! the 10bhp imo if other cars with same mods were running different mods would possibly be shabby inlets there is big gains to be had from matched inlets on some cars and not so big on others, didnt make too much difference on mine but...
Video of the speedo in my Clio 172 from just over 60mph to an indicated 140mph filmed in germany on the autobahn

Clio 182 Exhaust Manifold
K-Tec 2.5" Decat
K-Tec 2.5" Stealth Exhaust
AngelWorks Matched Inlets
PTFE Inlet Gaskets
