Looks a great trip guys and some VERY nice cars!
Any chance you could share the route? My car is booked in with Charlie at ProSpeed in the next couple of months so i'm planning to spend a few days in Wales...
Renault recommend that you use 98ron, so you may well see some improvement by swapping fuel.
But yeah, get a video up and i'm sure a few people will give their thoughts on it.
Yep, I would say so mate. They are all lumpy at idle, whether the engine is hot or cold.
Where are you based? It might be worth dropping by one of the specialists on here and ask them to have a look for peace of mind.
Right so bit of an update from me. I've managed to get a few more bits ticked off the list!
I've now taken the K-Tec "custom" map off the car and it has been replaced with the FastChip.nl/RSTuner 98 Ron map. Despite this being a generic map, it honestly has transformed the car. The car pulls...
Welcome to the forum- great selection of cars you've had/have!!
How does the T compare against the S2000 (or is it too early to say...)?
I work in Derby so will keep an eye out for you
Try Adam @ Renault Wolverhampton, he is a member on here, but you may need to be a paid up member to access his section.
Cheapest prices on genuine parts you'll find and delivery is always very quick!
I recorded another video of the exhaust at the weekend, it shows the extent of the popping at idle a bit better, so i've uploaded it to YouTube:
Feels good to have finally found the issue! I'm just looking at different options with regards a new exhaust now :)
Just spoken to a mate who had the same exhaust when he had a 182. He said his was exactly the same and he spent ages looking for a problem that wasn't there too. Result!
Ok so just been looking into this a bit further. I think I must have looked at every misfire and rough idle related thread on this forum. What a way to spend a Friday night lol!
Anyway, I started looking at videos on youtube to see if I could spot any cars with the K-Tec exhaust and see if...
I would get timing checked mate. K-Tec did mine also, the pic i posted earlier says it all really.
Noob question coming up, but is there anything else to check timing wise other than the cam timing?
Tried cleaning the throttle body already and that made no difference either.
Cam timing has been checked and the timing was out by a week!! I wonder if you can guess who did the belts lol?? The timing was corrected, but it made literally no difference at all (which was strange?!). This was done...
Thanks for the advice Chip.
Yeah couldn't believe how much better the RSTuner map was. Tbh, i wasn't expecting much of an improvement, I just wanted to rule out any issue with the map, but I was pleasantly surprised. Money very well spent!
Sadly, I don't have access to a 182 anymore to carry...
OK so just to update this.
Loaded the 98ron map onto the car via an RSTuner and whilst it drives 10000x better than it previously did with the K-Tec map, the popping (almost like a misfire) at idle is still there. :(
Any further ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated........
