    How reliable are mk2 ph2 172's ?

    ive had mine for a year, bought it mint condition with just over 20k on the clock 4yr old. in the last year its had.... new exhaust lambda sensor 2 rear shocks all 4 engine mounts new battery its never let me down or left me stranded just niggles that ive replaced eventually

    just get a cheap cat from ebay and smash its c**t in, thats what i done with my old 1.2 16v as said above, use new bolts and it'll be fine when changing

    all bolts are fine, everything is fitted properly, dogbone mount is perfect. fred, powerflex mount isnt fitted anymore and all mounting points been replaced so cant the problem being related to that.

    auto lights and wipers were availible on 1.2 16v dynamiques too, afaik they were standard spec but not 100% on that.

    tbh if you get a genuine 8bhp then on the 1.2 thats pretty good bhp per £ when you think what people spend on exhausts and filters. i always ment to get mine mapped but never got round to it!

    i usually get about 280miles to a tank of vpower but had a bird out in it lastnight and trip was saying 405miles :)

    thats a different part number from the one ive got too. is it the silver metal twisted mount you got or is it a black one thats not twisted (non RS one)

    What gearboxs would fit on?

    iirc the valver uses a jb3 box and the williams a jb5? in theory a 1.2 16v jb1 box should fit on but will it take the power/torque? theres a reason the 1.4/1.6 16v use a jb3 and not a jb1 after all!

    182 box doesnt fit it, driveshafts are a different length iirc? not worth while stripping the box just change it for a new one, you can pick them up for a couple of hundred on ebay/forum etc (i payed £112 for a 1.2 box with 8k on the clock from a scrappies!) your looking for a 172 gearbox...

    have you bedded them in yet? i usually do 2 30-5mph runs then 2 60-5mph runs then 3 80-5mph runs and usually the brakes are completely faded by then and they come back working a treat :) when your doing it DONT come to a stop as the pads can bind to the disk or warp the disk

    green stuff were awesome on my 1.2 16v just not so good on my 172!! u'll be fine on the 1.4, mine lasted fine on track on the 1.2

    Having throttle bodies on monday :) :)

    im going to speak to k-tec about these as soon as ive got a few bits n pieces done to tidy the car up first
