track tuition and experiance to learn to use the standard power to the full, then start looking at the rest, first thing id be doing modification wise would be stripping it to loose as much weight as possible, remember BHP per tonne is where its at!
its not quite the fabia VRS i was going to get but its a brilliant wee bus for £1800
really nice to drive compaired to the 1.2's due to the heavy steering like the 172 and the low down torque, nice wee town bus lol
just rang admiral to take 172 off the road for winter and insure the dci, they owe me £480 :)

went for a look today, interior was mint, it drove really well, was quite scruffy on the outside but nothing a trip to the bodyshop wouldnt tidy up.
only 2 things i noticed was 1, the trip computer was showing 16mpg but it had been sitting for a while so would probably have been reset not long...
so basically its due its 2nd cambelt change and a service in the next 4k if its not already been done early, will see how it is, looks 100% imaculate just the miles. but thats the kind of car im looking for, its just to belt to work and back! probably punt it on in a few months!
Going to look at a DCI with 140k miles on the clock tomorrow, apart from the usual checks you would look for on any car what else should i look out for? ive read the buying guide by edde and found a few bits and pieces in there, but is there anything else?

raised limiter wont affect gearbox life, more engine life, apparently the engines shouldnt be used above 7250rpm regularly, cant remember if its the valve...
