Yep, I worked in motor insurance for 5 years. It was just a retort to Rexina who insinuated that spending £5k on a £500 car was a waste of money, while at the same time suggesting that the OP spends £3k+ insuring a car worth max £2k instead - which IMO is just as big a waste of money.

And only a c**t would spend £3k insuring a clio. Surely?

I'd also look to first knock the aperture back to F/2.8 and practise getiing everything in focus then, and gradually go back up to F/1.8 if needs be. Is it the AF-S version you got mate, so it'll AF automatically? Never underestimate the power of manually adjusting the ring after initially...
