I'm thinking of just pulling the whole engine and box then I can swap it all over in the garage. I cant get the car in the garage as not enough space. Presume this doesn't take much longer?
I've probably put about that in when i managed to put a litre of engine oil in the box and then shoved some cheap stuff in and then genuine elf again ?
Seen this at £90 -...
Brilliant, cheers mate! I've seen you can squeeze them out the passenger side wheel arch by lowering the subframe and removing everything on that side. Best way to do it? I only just changed the oil! haha
It's off the road now then! I was pushing my luck driving to work today.
Worth shoving a new clutch in whilst i'm there i presume? Anything else recommended?
So wheels off calipers and discs off. Cant hear anything from inside. Presume the noise must only occur during loading which means box for sure?
Noticed this but just seems like its rubbing on the fabric heatshield hence the shine.
Also noticed my tracking has been good
What part of the box? I got home with it now. I've never really had any real problems with gear changes which is odd for this to have started out the blue
Am I likely to cause more damage driving? I've obviously driven to work this morning but can use another car after today. Dont want to cause box or bearing damage if the shaft is fucked.
J&R the way forward?
2 days ago this noise just started out of the blue. Has gotten worse today on the drive to work so my first thoughts of it being something catching has gone out the window.
The noise is there very quietly on throttle, very loud off throttle, and quiet again with clutch depressed but you can...
Ahh I see. This makes sense I guess but they were available very cheap for quite a while.
Might try and get them to price match on themselves from an old invoice once they get them in
Struggling to find the ad08-rs at the minute. They're available for 4 on Ebay but they're not exactly the £220 fitted price kwik fit had the ad08r tyres at.
We have one of these at work, works pretty well. Good for development work when you want a digital readout of the torque you're putting on.
We never really use it to maximum capability though as use such small torques
