So I'm getting lots of different replies when asking whether this cv is knackered.
I cleaned it prior to the video of all cv grease.
Does it need changing? I have no clicking or knocking. I'm changing the wishbones next weekend anyway so changing the driveshaft won't be an issue, but if it's...
I tried one at first on my BG and wasn't keen. Don't know if its because the car was standard and just had a sunstrips or the fact it was a silk one?
I've since seen nialls and that looks great, but it's slightly smaller than mine was.
In tempted by an anthracite one tbh

Maybe something like this? Looks decent when fitted. I Just picked a random one so find the right size you need
I've reserved a Febi brake switch from ecp that I'll go collect after work.
I also have some hubs that im having bearings pressed into and these have some abs sensors on them. I've no idea on whether they work or not but I'll be able to tell when I fit them.
It was changed quite a while back. I might get another just in case. They're cheap enough.
Then I'll go around all the abs sensors and give them a clean. Can you replace the steering wheel angle sensor?
Just recently my service and traction lights have been coming on. I replaced a brake switch ages ago, and also changed both abs rings around 7 months ago.
It doesn't happen all the Time, but like this morning when i lost traction the lights came on. (Icy today).
They go off when I turn the...
Decided I'll be paying someone else to do it 😂
Trust the person who will be doing them so it saves scrapping any hubs or bearings by doing it myself.
Maybe I'll get one in the future!
Aye, dont get me wrong, £40 isn't bad! But wasn't sure if it was worth paying for a press just so I have it for future use. Love me some tools.
I am worried that's potentially the case with the Tonnage. I have a grinder so happy to take off that outer race if it does get stuck.
£63 for this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Ton-Heavy-Duty-Hydraulic-Workshop-Garage-Shop-Standing-Press-6000-kg/281634190294?epid=1458683938&hash=item4192b4b3d6:g:IssAAOSwf~ZZbdlK
That's if 6 tonnes is enough!
The hubs are spare ones, already off the car so i'd just be dropping them off.
This is true, might be worth the £40 just to save the aggravation. But then I think if I have my own press I can use it for other stuff, like bushes etc.
Having been quoted £40 for some bearings to be removed from my hubs, thought it's worth punting a little extra into buying my own.
Are these cheapo 6 tonne bottle jack style ones from ebay decent? Would 6 tonnes be enough to remove the bearings?
Don't really want to spend over £200 on one!
I did my tie rods not so long ago, they're such a pain to get those rubbers on! Such a relief when they pop on haha  I nearly didn't go out to work on the car, but just shoved some layers on and it wasn't too bad. Got lucky with the rain tbh.
And cheers mate! I just want to get it...
On my journey to work last week I noticed the front end was scrubbing on lock even when at low speed. Having read a fair few threads and when looking underneath today, it was clear it was scrubbing on the part of the arch liner where the bumper bracket sits underneath. Few taps with a hammer and...
