Just take it for a hard drive, get on that limiter once warm, does no harm. I really doubt it's hg. They have plastic covers on these, hence the condensation build up. HG's are rare.
Sandpaper and contact cleaner is the way forward. I have a dodgy earth in the boot as the little round plugs next to the rear lights are loose letting water in which runs down onto the earth.
I actually watched my lights flashing slightly with the hazards during the MOT haha.

I hadn't really looked properly to be honest. I had thought about maybe using just a speaker grill of the same ID as the bass port, but had struggled to find some. Would have been nice and easy to just slot in and glue, i'm not sure how resilient it would have been though.

Seem to say that it could be the motor that's at fault due to age of vehicle it came off.
Is it undrivable with the current bonnet? If it was me, i'd keep that one until I find a BG bonnet as i'd just regret it as Pearl black is a fair bit different. Espeially when clean! I'd understand if you need to fit one ASAP to be able to drive it safely though. Are you not claiming through...
