You have done a really good job of this mate! Car is a real credit to you. Most wont like that it's a 1.2 you've done it to though, but got to appreciate the amount of work in it.
You main concern at the minute is the payout on the car, i'd then focus on getting the car back as surely they have a legal obligation to do so? I'm not sure about the ins and outs of that. Recovery wouldn't be expensive. I'm sure someone in sheffield wouldn't mind helping you out if you're...
I know people who have had them done at a garage, i dont know if i'd risk it DIY! I think the main concern is vacuuming out any swarf. What cars this on?
Probably someone working at the garage it's being held at wanting to buy it. I'd fight for the car back mate, even if it's cat D, if you aren't looking to sell it and it costs a few hundred to repair, who cares?
If they're only offering you a low value for it, you should be able to get a fairly good price buying it back, no? Parts are cheap and if only a small dint in the quarter it'll probably be pullable! You have the history with the car which is the most important bit, and as long as there's nothing...
Well my SGS one is getting delivered on monday, and for the £35 posted I can't complain. Storage and transportation up and down stairs were my main concerns but in the future i'll invest in a bigger one. Will update when I get it if people want? Can never have enough tools!
I was just wondering before I buy a whole new unit whether it would be possible to just solder in a normal 12v LED strip? I have a few lying around and seems like an easy job? Or am I missing something? They're waterproof strips too which would eliminate the problem if water came into contact...
The sports must just get mistaken for normal clios with a ' chavvy loud exhaust' to a lot of people as they're probably cars people don't know exist necessarily. You very rarely see them about.
Sprayshack i've heard do them too, might be worth a message. They do often come up in the parts for sale so just keep an eye out mate.
The plan next is just to drive the car really! I need to solve the ABS issue and then get the belts done but for now other than general maintenance I'm going to...
I think colours like RB, Inferno, Liquid Yellow, Alien Green etc are special just for the fact they're colours you dont often see on cars. I love BG, but I wouldn't say a black car is particularly special. It of course has gold speckle, but a normal person wouldn't necessarily look and see that.
I'm not sure where they're from to be honest. I do know that there's a company called carbon streamline or something that do carbon parts for clio so maybe worth checking there?
And the latest one is 2012/13 which i hope to get but i'm in no rush. It's just a novelty!
Makes sense mate cheers...
Just spoken to him now and as it was towed to a garage, they're just scrapping it and writing off any debt owed for towing/looking at the car. Seems a shame but it is what it is I guess! He doesn't want any hassle with it. Was a 5dr too i've just confirmed so maybe worth slightly less anyway.
Totally missed this thread! Car looks nice and tidy mate, and a good plan to get the belts done. Stops you worrying everytime you go for a drive.
Hopefully the brake light switch solves it, have you tried actually resetting it by pulling it all the way out and refitting? How much did ktec...
Where's the most suitable jacking points then? Mine appear to have been bent in during it's past life, and even if I bent them back out I don't think i'd trust them! Seen people suggesting using the chassis boxed parts underneath but they don't look too strong! Where would axle stands be best...
