Does it need a GPS antenna plugged in ? I doubt you'll get GPS through the FM antenna..... Sounds like you need to swap the (usually) yellow and red wires over as it's the wrong way round. Your live and ignition are the wrong way.

Sprog will be too young to understand.. You'll be fine.
