    Cool Saturday but Awesome Sunday...

Nice car.. Nice pics ruined by what I assume was a £4.99 eBay special wide-angle "filter"?!

Am i mad to consider buying these?

Neither of my sets of wheels will fit under a mk2 arch, let alone go on. 5 stud FTW :approve:

    Cars broken

Danny (519automotive) is probably closer. There's Ren-o-tec in Chelmsford or Two Techs in Dartford which are even nearer.

New Wheels for the Boost Bus Please.

Learn how to park, doofus. PS: It's not a bus, it's a barge. HTH. PPS: My wheels will fit your car....

Split rear brake disc, oops, suggestions for new ones......

Standard OEM is fine. The rears do barely anything on the cups anyway. Make sure you've not got a seized or sticky piston.. I would hazard a guess that there's too much heat gone into that !!

Can someone photoshop for me ??

It will look like a van with tints. Wheels will look awful. Being black will lose all the detail...

    Macro and Wide angle questions

Sigma 10-20 FTW :D If you want a Macro lens, buy something like 80 or 100mm canon/sigma. Don't get a superzoom which "does" macro.

    Using a 172 as a trailer?

Really, I think you need to make the 'trailer' a match for the tow-car.

    handling

I know you said the front is feeling naff but the rear shocks are a very common fault. Check for leaks/problems... What tyres are on the car ? What pressure are you running them at ? What's the problem exactly ?! Fast/slow corners ? Straight line stability ? Accelerating/braking/steady...

    Speakers sounding terrible...

JVC aren't great. Decent speakers will make a naff HU sound worse. What do you mean sounds terrible? First thing to do I would set the balance to one side and turn it up. Still sound naff? If not, you've got the polarity wrong on one of them.

    Brake Based Badness

Splash of oil on the pads can stuff them. Have a look and see if they're really low. You could also have a sticky or seized piston somewhere. You won't know until you take them apart tho..

    A fairly simple mpg question

Lambda would be my first guess. Swap them front to rear, reset your on board computer and see what happens.

    A fairly simple mpg question

Unless you're both draining the tank completely, comparing your figure to someone else is meaningless. Mpg to mpg is much more useful to you The inboard computer tells you your mpg and there are hundreds of websites that will work it out for you too. There are also hundreds of mpg...

    Alloy wheel refurbishment/powdercoating in herts/essex

Three cars, 99p starting bid, NO RESERVE!

Alfa would be good for sillywoman... And a nice project to keep Scrooge busy for a couple of weekends !! I do love your adverts but I feel these are a little lacking in the normal superfastdan flair... 4/10.

Insurance Renewal time... the quotes so far

Would you prefer they wasted your time and quoted you £40,000 to put you off instead ? If insuring 172s isn't a good business case for them based on their history with the cars, why would they put themselves at risk !?

    Another Telephoto Lens Thread

55-250 mk2 (more expensive one) is a great lens. Had one with my 450D. Picked up the Tamron very cheap and it's fine. It does the job but it's cheap... you get what you pay for. Tamron: Tugs racing on the Thames by evil_giraffes_rule, on Flickr Canon @55mm IMG_0921 by...
