It wasn't the whole length of the car. It was from the start of it on the front wing to just before the door handle. The rest occurred while trying to get the car away from his. With the door bent forward a bit it kind of wedged it so which ever way I tried to move it caught it further.
The guy...
Maybe moved another 1/2-1 ft forward. The scratches to the rear 1/4 were caused while trying to move the car away from the door as it was bent forwards a bit.
I'll see how the next few days go... I have suggested a place I'd like to have the work done if possible that I know a few people have said is good and they're looking into it. It's Kindertons accident management sorting it all if that's the one your looking at?
I'm still hopefully going to make this but with recent events it kind of depends if I still have my car and if not what kind of rental shed I get. If it's a 1l piece of s**t then I'll be out.
Although they did suggest I should get something similar!
Well the accident management company were in touch today and went through all the details. I've filled out the statement of truth and sent it back with pics and and the cctv footage. (everyone at work who watched it instantly thought it was the other party at fault). Just hope the insurance see...
Seriously, get the hub like the Ultimate. Mines been flawless without even using the add on extenders. Lets you edit/update the commands etc wireless and all sorts. Love it so far:cool:
It was me that went in and asked for the cctv as I know I was doing nothing wrong and we both got a dvd of it. The pics above are one frame to the next so not a great frame rate.
Not sure they'll be much I can do about it if they do? Apart from maybe buying it back and getting it fixed up.
It's booked in to have the belts done in Jan. Bloody glad I haven't just forked out for all that yet!

Going through insurance. To much messing about not to and tbh with the people in the other car I wouldn't want to try and sort it out outside of it.
Not sure if it'll be a write off? Will need a new door and the side respraying. Proper pissed at the situation. As if you don't look before opening the door....
Gutted isn't the word, couple of hours ago some idiot decided to open their rear passenger door on me as I was passing through the petrol station causing the below damage:cry:.
It was clearly his fault for not looking before opening the door imo as I was right by the side of his car when it...
I was advised (by the garage) not to bother with these as they're rubbish and sometimes down on stock power in his experience...
Sadly yes:disappointed:.
@Cub. I'm paying 600-650 including the rest of the 5y service bits (from a trader on here) and figured some 197 cams and a map would come in at around the same price as Dan. Only problem is 'said trader' is now struggling to get hold of some 197 cams:disappointed:.
Thanks for the offer fella, but I've already got it booked in somewhere nearer to me. Somerset is a little to far really:confused:. Do you sell cams on their own at all?
@Cub. Would love some catcams but I just can't justify that much cost. If I was spending that kind of money then I think I'd...
So my car's booked in for its belts/5 year service in January. I thought while these are being done it'd be a good time to get some cams stuck in. Now with the resale value etc I don't really think spending 6-700 + a map on some new Catcams or the like is worth it so I decided 197 cams would be...
Sends via rf signals to its hub that then sends the ir so you don't need to point it at stuff. Also works in cabinets and can control lights and heating and stuff if you want. Plus let's me use my phone as remote over the WiFi.
They're doing that offer again tonight! The ultimate is the same but with WiFi, Bluetooth and separate ir senders. Worth the extra £40 I thought.
Got to be bloody quick to get them!
I think it comes down to luck of the draw with them.
On my old 172 they worked perfectly almost all of the time. However on my 182 they were s**t from day one. I've tried different gel packs, cleaning and reseating it and it was still the same (or worse!).
Eventually ended up breaking the whole...
