didn't see the water pump actually, my bad. you forgot to add the 2 prices together though, one is the parts th other is labour, so he's been quoted £737
you might have got away with that, if it hadn't have been for that pesky power steering, awwww bless, too heavy to turn the wheel without some driver assistance
205 1.9 gti over anything, ever.
oh, and anyone that says the 1.6 handled better is on drugs, it just had less power, nothing else. Really didn't like the 1.6 for having to rape the engine to make it go anywhere
you have a 1.2 16v, so your loom is fucked. It'll get gradually worse ;)
Dunn, needs plugging in to PROPER diagnostics kit, not a cheap code reader. It could be as simple as a sparkplug, or a lead, but you need to narrow down if it's lacking spark or fuel, and on which cylinder(s)
i'm going to disagree.....my impact gun undoes driveshaft nuts without blinking, and they're 280Nm. Wheel bolts would have snapped long before getting that tight
lot of "clever" people on here today. AC being on could potantially sap 10bhp, about the same as adding a decent set of cams would gain you. Now everyone will say they noticed the difference adding the cams, so why wouldn't you notice a 10bhp drop?
Still in doubt, drive up a hill and turn AC...

would be a bit of a waste of your time. the only car thats had it done (on a ph1 ecu) was sold on, and the new owner significantly unimpressed with the way the car drove, so converted to standalone (and stuck the engine in a mk1).
then the £800 plus for new cambelt and aux belt kits, and actually fitting the engine. all in about 3 times as much as just getting the belts changed ;)
