genuine or performance aftermarket are the only worthwhile options really. Pattern parts are of a smaller bore, so are a bigger restriction than standard.
Tim, they're covered by warranty, so stop fretting, You're already logged as reporting the fault. They'll either be repaired or replaced. All being sorted once they open in the new year :)
think a few people would s**t themselves if they took a stock 182 system off and turned it on it's end. Most of them have a good half litre of water come out
slacken the bolt at the top of the tensioner spring a couple of turns, that will let the bracket move forward enough to give you a little room.
However, the best way to do it is to remove everything and get a really good view to make sure the ports are properly lined up. Pretty pointless mod...
James, as discussed a couple of weeks ago, inlets and a panel filter are the most cost effective mods, with a remap to compliment.
I'd think long and hard before using a magnex exhaust though. Not great on the 172 at all
be a lot simpler to get the right resistor pack for what you have. Dont know of anyone thats retro fitted the non-A/C blowers, only Burp, who fitted a ford blower, so not really the same thing
