the 172 system is "quite" loud when you get the 2.5 inch. The smaller bore is quieter and the build quality is fantastic. The 182 system is better and quieter than the 172 system
We had a fleet policy years ago, The documentation said any vehicle and any driver with the permission of the policy holder. In reality, there were further restrictions once you declared a regular driver on a specific vehicle, Normally a massive excess for young drivers, but the cover was there.
are you using a genuine shaft? there are 3 different versions of the 2 piece shaft, 172 ph2, 182, and 182 cup/cup pack. All are different lengths.
Non-genuine shafts only cover one of these lengths, and run the boot on the outside of the joint, which causes it to rub on the block. Split boot =...
I went to the jet wash earlier. The bay i pulled into was having a purge cycle to rinse out the lance, so i grabbed it as it's good to give the car a quick blow over to loosen the dirt. 5 minutes later it was still running and i'd got most of the heavy dirt off for free. Winner
not normally too bad. s**t bolt design though, and the lack of space can make it tricky to get the socket on straight (which is pretty much what happened to Tony I think)
LOl, was so funny as the bolts came out. Tony was on the phone to Jay describing the way the first bolt was putting up a fight, then i just called out
"1 out!"
"2 out"
"3 out" in the space of about 2 minutes
4th one took a minute or 2 longer. Can't describe the satisfaction when you...
I'd be surprised if he jet washed it AFTER rebuilding the top end. I'd personally do it before to make it a nicer job to do, or just jet everything while it's off. Having said that, it could have been done, and would cause the symptoms you have
That's one method that i've also seen done. it's not bad, but the trouble with doing this sort of work in the car is, if you so much as slip and drop a collet, you're in a world of trouble.
I have an attachment for pressurising the cylinder and holding the valves shut with an airline, but I've...
That's a seriously strict limit!!!! doesn't surprise me in the least that it's hard to achieve. Seriously rich sounds like quite an over-statement though. Remember it's not that long ago that cars didn't run cats and the MOT CO limit was 3.5%. If you have a big exhaust, you're probably just...
