you'd be silly not to just go and get them to check it really. I lubricate the bonnet catch on every car I see now, there's a lot of them get very sticky and it takes about 1 minute to free them off and grease them up to try to prevent it happening again
cup aux belt can loosen up sometimes if the alternator isn't bolted up tight enough. They also need doing a bit tighter than you'd think in my experience.
worth checking your coolant temp sensor. If it's faulty and telling the ECU the wrong thing then you could be getting a lot of extra fuel thrown in. Similarly the lambda sensor could be at fault. Well worth a plug in on diagnostics
;)
the engine is kept leaner by a lack of acceleration fuel at lower revs. When the engine is given some accel fuel, it gains a lot of urgency (for want of a better way to describe it)
no, that's not true. Any cam profile will have a point in the revs where the VE is improved, but the stock setup is not wild enough to have that kind of sudden difference. Like i said, it maps out
well i dont know exactly what you've been told, but there's a lot of different versions of what's happening going round. The fact making adjustments to fueling can smooth it out (making improvements at lower RPM) should speak volumes
I'd go with utterly not worth it. Renault did the hard work and both 172 and 182 manifolds are very good. I can't see either becoming a limitation to top end power
yes, sort of. it's more to do with emmisions regulations again really. No/little acceleration fuel at lower revs, which the engine wants but isn't being allowed.
A good remap can smooth this out very nicely
keep it looked after and it'll keep going. I imagine things like the radiator would be fairly tired so sensible to change it and keep the engine healthy
Orange told me they didn't do a package with more than 500mb and that was only about 3 weeks ago. I used over 800mb a couple of months ago and i still can't understand why.
It's had the cambelt messed with since it was mapped. It was fast last time i saw it so something's been messed about with and cocked up. Bet you the cam timing is well out
if you get the full set of renault tools that you need to actuallt SET the timing, then they come to around £160. That one tool you put up is only part of the set, and not much difference in price for a genuine one.
you're less than an hour from me I believe
ah rubbish :(
get yourself a thread chaser and you might be able to restore the thread to a usable state. If not then you'll need to weld in a new lambda boss
