Cutting out at WOT over 4k

does sound like a crank sensor problem, maybe it's loose or has a corroded plug? if the sensor gets or gives a weak signal it can often cause a problem in getting a clean rpm reading, and this gets accentuated at higher revs. pest thing to do rather than throw parts at it, would be to plug in...

few problems just had my car itb'd

crappy phone picture, but this is how you can dial in cams on an F4R with a DTI, using tooling supplied by Catcams

few problems just had my car itb'd

THANK YOU!!!!!!! Not liking the incinuations being made TBH And as said........good luck using a DTI on an F4R without some very specialised tools (that do exist, but you'll need to spend several hundred pounds on them), and all for probably the mildest upgrade cams known to man, the...

RXE is an 8v The original picture is 100% an 8 valve engine, I've done a couple of top end rebuilds on them in the last few months

I've had a few silver-calcium batteries now, they're excellent in general, seem to be able to get much higher CCA from a smaller bettery

New battery needed in the cup... Bosch from halfords ok?

    safety pin on crankshaft pulley

i dont see a downside to using a woodruff key, but then, I havn't seen issues with the crank pulley unless the aux belt fails and gets tangled

    16v engine?

    mk2 ph1 1.4 sport had an 8v. No such thing as a 1.4 16v sport Looks like an E7J

    1.2 16v Belts

good price. Be aware that the water pump is a regular weakness and leaks, even on very low mileage. It's not a hard job at all, but as with most things, some specific product knowledge is well worthwhile. Also, make sure they're replacing the tensioner for that price, might be a bit TOO cheap. I...

    cambelt problems (local garages)

depends on the engine. K4M/J (1.6 and 1.4 16v) require similar tools. 1.5 dci requires the correct pins to be used, and 1.2 16v isn't particularly a specialist job, although I've seen a LOT done incorrectly as no-one seems to know how to set a tensioner

How to remove CV Grease From Your Wheels

brake cleaner. not aerosol though, that's a MASSIVE waste of cash. Buy 5 litres and a squirty bottle and it's superb for cleaning anything greasy

    New Cambelt Problem

Yes there's more than that, there's even more than one version of the pulley locking tool, it was revised for the 197 which has a different vvt pulley
