bit of judgement needed TBH, low miles and no play or noise from the idlers then they'll be ok for quite some time. If it's done lots of miles then probably should be changed. Increasingly common that it's needed though.
As an example, if it's had cambelt and aux kit done, then done 20k in 3...
try a pipercross panel filter (or K-tec branded one....same thing) saw a notable change in manifold pressure between an ITG filter and a Pipercross one.
If it's rich it will bog down,
depends how well it's done for midrange gains. Torque increase at points in the rev range where you accelerate from is what you need to consider. Very different car with ITBs
