stock ECU will run it if you use 172 cams, VVT pulley and actuator.
It should just bolt on. I've not done every check possible but the head gasket is the same. You will lower compression by just fitting the 197 head though
oh NGK are all i'd EVER use, but you dont need the fancy ones if you dont have a cat (they just give you a slightly cleaner burn to protect the cat). It's bosch and champion shite that cause issues.

you'll se NO benefit. Once the bonnet is shut it sits where the slam panel and upper part of the grille would be. You'll see more benefit from making a heat shield between the filter and the rad
teeeeeny tiny exhaust ports though (emisions :( ) Probably would be the best if you replicated the exhaust ports to be like ph1, but I'd want the fully variable inlet cam too though which 100% means a different ECU if you put it in a mk2 , and the pistons to match the head, in whatever block...
pressing the clutch to come out of gear, then lift of the clutch momentarily in neutral before pressing the pedal down again. Old technique that was used before gearboxes had synchromesh and it can help a lot on most cars into reverse
