ITG is a foam filter, K&N is a cotton filter. I personally like cotton filters as they actually filter better (IMO) If you want a foam filter, go for a pipercross. They do the same job and are considerably cheaper
compbrake ones are a waste of time. All the others mentioned are great. Dont understand why you can't use the AST ones. If you dont want to drill they're the best option. K-tec ones are superb, I'd say better than Mark Fish ones, especially for the price.
mine's too loud WITH a full interior. I'd never strip out a daily personally, Leave that for weekend toys.
It would utterly put me off buying a car too
you can just replace them. They tap in. They're there to give access to the ends of the cams when using locking tools during a cambelt change
no harm in a light smear of silicon either, will stop weeping and will help them slip in a little easier
did you lubricate the spindle before re-fitting? cleaning it gets all the dirt out, but it also washes away any lubrication. A few squirts of WD40 or similar will help
they've been doing that for years. Trouble is they never reduced car tax to go along with it, just bump up fuel.
Are we still on about 80% of fuel cost being tax?
Can't remember the last time i changed one without the belts off at the same time. think if you take off the brace from alternator top bolt to block it'll help, and use a UJ on an extension or a bar with a wobble end. Sure it goes in there
