they're not proper captives, they're just a nut with a spring clip. If you break the clip and rip it out (5 mins a side tops) you can get a spanner on the nut
Buy a single Pacet TBH. Those are quite reasonable copies, but they dont have the speed to shift a lot of air. They're respectable enough and cars I've seen with a single one dont overheat, but a single good one will only cost slightly more than that
Not worth messing about with the bumper on, only takes a few minutes to get it off and the extra access will save you a huge amount of time. I leave the arch-liners on the bumper and detach the trim clips from the body rather than removing the screws, but that's a personal preference and Andy...
the theory I would say is fairly sound (with a very obvious bias ;) ) but in reality it just doesn't drive like that. However, it is a better mod to make on an engine that's had internal work done (raised compression, cams etc)
as I said above, it's already a good map so you can just plug in and go :)
done them in a day (having done quite a few ;) ) so I recon a weekend for someone competent first time :)
almost exactly this, except it's more than a base map, it's a productionised map which you'll struggle to improve on. And you gert a full set of CNC machined bracketry so no DIY manufacturing needed. Also uses a non renault crank sensor so you dont have the reliability issues that brings and no...
Re: Renault 5 F2000 Tarmac Rally / Sprint Car - Clio Williams conversion & overhaul
I wouldn't ditch the bodies personally, Webers aren't the best but carbs are hugely compromised on fueling. There will ALWAYS be somewhere that's flat in the rev range, you can't get away without compromise.
you just disagreed, then agreed in one statement :s
without a quaife I recon the turbo 172/182 is verging on dangerous, it's still a massive handful even with one, whereas the stock diff is quite capable with an NA clio
once you're at high power (boosted) the difference is very noticable. the standard diff becomes a liability IMO. Dont think it's a problem at all for nearly every NA clio
my point was that it isn't OVER fueling that causes the pops and bangs. Excessive fuel would cool the exhaust and to a point reverse what the ignition r****d achieves. You can call it what you like, if someone asks for pops they can have it
Dont really want to descibe it here and so everyone messes with theirs ;) sure Andy could talk you through it or mod the map and send it to you to upload if you know how to use the basics of the software
Adey is right, it's done with ignition r****d on over-run, overfueling at that point would do the opposite, you'd just get a puff of black smoke. reversible in about 30 seconds if you want less/no pops
