They will go in fine, but I'm unsure they would work. Just from a quick look at all CATcams specs, the peak angle of the 197 inlet cam is notably different, and nothing like any of the uprated 172/182 cam, and I can only think this is down to the VVT on the F4R 830 being constantly variable...
I can't disagree with that strongly enough. The ends of the cam are not strong enough to hold the tightening torque, serious danger of breaking them, and you need to hold the pulleys still or they move out of the correct timing position when being torqued up. We spent a good 2 or so hours...
ditch the rear speakers. pointless. Like I said, a good 3 speaker setup will kick the s**t out of most multi-speaker lash-ups you see
Read a bit more of the spec on that page, seems a nice amp, I'm just questioning if it's well matched to the sub :)
RMS?? remember that's on a test bench at 14.6v and probably did it once only for a millisecond. What's the RMS on the sub? bet it's quite a bit more than that
never fit speakers in a shelf if you have a sub in the boot for a start, the sub will distort the sound completely. A quality set of front speakers and a 12 in sub with appropriate amplification will blow away any setup involving 6x9s. I like pioneer co-axials (if you can't afford separate mids...
If you go by the kent figures you should notice it will run a lot better even before you get it mapped (which you will need doing) Did one very recently that had been lashed together with guesses timing, and the transformation was huge, though very noticable that the fueling was way out
doubt that TBH. Garages have to make money, but they'll buy parts in cheaper than the public will get them, and sell at normal retail price. You're more likely to get charged extra labour time by a backstreet garage if you supply parts to them as they're not making a cut on the parts.
What you got? if it's 428 IN, and 421 EX I'd be inclined to try it, If it's 421 IN and 428 EX, that's no bad thing in itself, but you might find it doesn't want to idle well if you have fly-by-wire throttle.
Got a feeling ASTs have the lower hole slotted to suit the different fitments. There's definitely one setup like that, not looked at a set for a few months, anyone got a picture maybe??
what coilovers are they, knocking could be quite a few things, driveshafts and balljoints would be my favourite culprits if the coilovers are in good condition
yes, to a point. on large injectors, small changes in the raw data of the map make bigger differences. Not sure what size 197 are but I think they're the same type as 225 (siemens deka)
megane ones are 390, a bit big but the spray pattern is FANTASTIC
On a stock internals engine you can get away with standard injectors, even with cams.
there can be issues, but if you're aware you can combat them. Scaling is something to watch, and about the only thing i'm worried about, but you can ceramic coat internally for not too unreasonable money
most cheap stuff will be 304, which cracks pretty quickly normally. 321 is meant to be better at dealing with the heat, but the temperatures i've seen quoted as it being stable are still a couple of hundred degrees below EGTs I've known on turbo setups. The trouble with stainless is it's rate of...
