You need to check the voltage that the alternators putting out for a start.
What size cable did you use?
Is the earth cable the same thickness as the positive cable?
Is it a good earth point that you’ve got?
Running a battery in the boot requires good quality thick cabling to cope with the flow.

Well to get the head line bored, I only found 1 company in the uk that could and would do it! £450 later it was done. It was nothing but grief for them to do it and I don't think they'll do another!
If you're that worried, shave off the sharp areas with a Stanley knife blade.
I can supply a lightweight flywheel if you want one mate.
Also, are you changing the box for another one? If so, what's up with the original? Pm me with details if you prefer. ?
