Inlet ports are huge, as you've probably seen for yourself. Exhaust ports are the same size as a 182 head - small, but when my head was done we didn't open them up by a massive amount as its not needed. The standard valve sizes will flow enough for 230-240 as well, so unless you like spending...
Yeah it soon all adds up mate!
Yep that's what I'm led to believe too regards the pads.
The rears are standard, but not......lol! Nice little custom conversion on those! Ds2500's at the back too.
Mine are off a Meg 225, but they're also the same as a 197/200. I have no experience with the brembos mate in terms of braking performance, but I've been in @Cub.'s car with them fitted and they were very impressive.
I'm also going with a custom 295x28 disc on a rotor and bell setup.
Totally agree mate. Mine drives no different on the 15's to the 16's either, or at least I can't feel it.
My reasons for going 16" all round though was based on using a shorter 5th gear, so the 16's will alter the gearing slightly over the 15's to drop the rpm. Even if it's only 100 rpm.
The...
Stick your head near the passenger front wing when the engines running. Hear a ticking noise? It's the carbon canister. This is possibly what your hearing.
Ah right ok. That's a lot of grief though tbf! You would've been better off fitting the full Meg 225 engine and box. That way you get a stronger box and a engine that's designed to be boosted from the off. Just my opinion though of course.
I've had a quote for £1004.23 to do a gearbox rebuild mate. And that was just the parts.........
For reference a recon box from Renault can be had for £900 with your old box taken in exchange.
Does it stop the noise as soon as your out of 2nd and into 3rd? Or does it do it in all gears?
Have you checked the oil level on it at all?
How long since the oil was las changed?
Does it do it if you take it out of gear whilst the cars moving?
I'm going to say it's gearbox bearing related...
You need to splice into the original wiring harness mate basically. You only need to splice into certain wires though for your chosen ecu to do the magic.
Regards the brembos, if you need to justify them to yourself, you'll reduce your unsprung weight which will benefit the handling.
I'm going for a custom 295mm setup with bells and rotors to reduce this further.
@Phase1sr had some bells available recently iirc that @Ph1 Tom had made up, if you...
Yes but you'll need to wire it all to suit. If your going to that level you might as well rip all the standard wiring out and rewire the entire car.
Alternatively run it as a piggyback with the standard ecu and retain the uch etc.
You need to measure the centre to centre distance of the 2 bolts mate, but looking at your picture you have non cup packed suspension, so 54mm centres. This is the most common one for suspension options tbh.
The cup packed suspension would have 60mm spacing from centre to centre.
I'm just going through this now as I need a few parts to do a refresh on a box, so your misfortune has been my gain in this instance, as I would've ordered the large overhaul kit!
Well that doesn't make sense! At all! Going from the gearbox code you sent me, that should've had all the correct parts in it.
The jc5 130 has the sealed bearing and bearing/seal arrangement for the input shaft (which you are missing).
It's only the main shaft that has the taper bearings so...
