If there's enough demand for it, then I see no reason why we can't look into doing the various options tbh. At the minute it's a case of trying to keep it as simple as possible really.
The mk1 can be accommodated mate no problem.
Yeah a decent drill and drill bit would go through, but you'd...
Yes mate hub and pin are 2 different metals and there's no way I'd even consider doing that tbh. That's the fast way to staring a failure right in the face.
I actually run my personal set at 10mm wider (so 20mm wider overall) on the cup and I've been out as far as 15mm without driveshaft...
Thanks Tony! Surely you never expected anything less though! Lol!
I'm going to assume you mean track width Morgan rather than camber? No increase in camber but a small increase in track width. Zero modifications required other than to the hub itself. It's a well thought through trick design...
Thats interesting to read as well chip. My new engine *should* be around the 220-230hp region so it'll be interesting to see what it pulls flat out. I'll be going to 8k ish as well, although I must be honest the interest or desire to go that fast has dwindled somewhat nowadays.
The Astra used to pull 174 on the limiter in 5th with around 2miles required to get there. That's from a standing start as well. Did it twice and bid it f**k after that! Lol
That is very impressive dan!! Imo the shorter 5th is only really needed for n/a cars as they need all the help they can get to keep them buzzing along.
I'll add the bits that chip has forgotten:
Look the bollox and go like a cat with mustard on its arsehole when turboed. Lol!
Wind ups aside though, you could consider changing your 5th gear ratio rather than the f/d. From speaking with James about it after tony mentioned it in one of my posts...
Yes got one fitted in mine mate. They've updated it since which is the one shown in your link. No messing, easy to fit and good company to deal. Plus it's not a dash dodger either, which was what I wanted.
An rs192 won't fit a 172 as its designed for a 182. Btm do a stealth version of the yozza which is quiet and there's also a btb stealth (which I run on my cup) that's also quiet. Both are worth a look if quality, fit, stealth and not a lot of noise is what your after imo.
Look in icemans thread for his 182. He pissed around for ages trying to get his to stop leaking from the rear main crank seal and there's a fair few pictures on there of how it should be fitted. Hope that helps.
Sorry but I lol'd out loud at this! Well done that man!
On a Quaife diff note though, I ran one in my turboed mk3 Astra coupled with a straight cut gearkit also from Quaife and I liked everything about how the Quaife put the power through to the front wheels. It wasn't just some s**t chipped...
I wouldn't personally mate no, but its your choice really. If you would feel happier running on 5w/40 then change it, but I can't see it getting rid of the tapping noise.
Yes mate makes perfect sense in that respect. If the car was developed with the ring in mind a 5 min lap time is a real possibility, but imo I only think it would be a mid to high 5 min lap. The ground effects that the grp c Porsches were running were significantly helping their lap times as...
You seen the in-car footage from Derek bells 956 when bellof comes past in qualifying trim?! Lol! He passes bell like he's stood still and bell does a sub 7 lap!! Flol
Karousel and mini karousel would be, erm, interesting to say the least!! And don't even start me on Pflanzgarten 1&2! Lol! I think low 6's but not sure they would get into the 5's, but nevertheless I'd love to watch it! I see Porsche have done a 6:57 in the 918 as well. Boring lap to watch tbh...
No it's not ruined mate. Take it to a garage or engineering shop if its stripped the thread out the head and get the plugs replaced. Don't let a garage try and take the piss out of you and tell you it needs a new head without a 2nd opinion. Where are you based? Try one of the specialists on here...
Yeah it's had a bit of remodelling I think mate, but its definitely had resurfacing. There's a few bumps that have disappeared (apex at schedenkreuz) but some have appeared (hatzenbach using kerbs and inbetween Pflanzgarten 1&2 is a nasty hump that throws the car over to the right as you turn in...
They'll more than likely remember my cup tbh mate! Lol! Neil is gaffer and I'm 99% sure he will remember it from the colour choice on the cage, wheels and other details.
