    Good bodyshop west yorks

I'll 2nd that!! They're that good I travelled up from Derbyshire to get them to do the paint/repairs on my track cup. The guy who runs the place said, 'we're a bodyshop, we can do anything' and it clearly shows from the standard of work they put through!! True enthusiastic genius!

    Toastfrenzy's Tin Top, some say...........

Pete - mines a hero3 silver and its mounted to the main roll over hoop. You've seen my video of the nurburgring lap, so maybe worth trying mounting it higher up? I always have it in spot mode as well

Thats the best way to drive the ring mate tbh. Thanks! Hope you watched in full HD!

    Adenau, Nurburgring this weekend...

No mate never had an off there but witnessed a biker death first hand. We got arrested on the spot and had to prove our innocence. Video camera in the car ftw, but not a nice experience all the same. Believe it or not, I wasn't pushing that hard in the 8:31lap either. Possibly looks/sounds...

    Adenau, Nurburgring this weekend...

Excellent! Its normal for me to go over there and do 30+ laps when I'm there tbh which when spread over 10 years + of going soon adds up to a lot of laps!! Lol! I've got to have done in the region of 350-400 laps not including the many thousands done on the ps2....... Lol! I know every bit of...

Track knowledge is the key chip, as I'm sure you know! With that place it's a necessity!

    Adenau, Nurburgring this weekend...

Very easy tbh. Did it in mine a few years ago on toyo t1r's. Down in the 8min 30's now in a stripped out cup and kw v2 suspension. Plenty of time left in the tank as well tbh.

    Identifying 197 cams

I take it you know what setting to dial the 197 cams in as then?

BIGASH/FF-Racing X85 Clio Cup Racer Project

I'd imagine your box has seen more heat than the welding would cause anyway tbh. It nearly burnt my hand when I touched the casing at mallory. The only issue I can see in getting it welded is getting it clean enough for the tig to weld without spitting its dummy out. It's very sensitive as to...

    Identifying 197 cams

Offer them up to a set of 172 cams - You'll visibly see the differences in the lobes. The 197 cams have longer duration and they're also more advanced from what I remember.

Its a good job you weren't as confident then through island!! Look at what happened to James! Lol! Impressive to get within that time distance though everything else considered. Boyz got skillz init! Lol

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Yeah I understand that Morgan. It really is night and day better since all the hub modifications though. So much easier to drive, which I think the video shows as a lot of people have commented on how smooth and easy I made it look. Overall impressions of the epas though are very good - even if...

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Tbf Fred, you didn't look completely comfortable in the video either, so the seating issue would make a lot of sense.
  18. NorthloopCup

    EPAS on 172 Cup

A few things to keep in mind with mine though Morgan are as follows: I didn't settle the tyre pressures before I set that lap, so the fronts were above what I wanted, causing some of the understeer, The suspension is not stiff enough which was adding to the understeer, but the assistance level...

    Track geometry settings??

Mines road driven on those settings and its alright tbh. Bit skittish on bumpy roads but nothing horrendous.
  20. NorthloopCup

    Track geometry settings??

Ah that would explain it knocking the b****cks out the tyres then. Mines 3 degrees negative at the front, 2.5 degrees negative at the rear and around 10 minutes toe out on the front. It all comes down to personal preferences though. Those settings suit me, but may not suit others.

    Track geometry settings??

    What's the current geometry?

    EPAS on 172 Cup

    Better tyre construction maybe?
  23. NorthloopCup

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Fundamental underlying issues there that are exaggerated by the epas imo there Fred. If the assistance was turned down I'm sure it would improve it too. Mine does nigh on the exact same thing at full assistance. Watch this and you'll see what I mean. Granted though, the ring is a bumpier...

My home made intake made today :)

Ah yes I'd forgotten about the holy grail of 2bhp gains in f4r tuning! Flol!

My home made intake made today :)

I'd imagine you could use a 'hump' style silicone hose if you really wanted to be 100% with it. They allow for a bit of flex and movement.

Lol whereas I'm the opposite way round with mine! It'll be interesting to see where you set it to on track when your on proper track tyres phil.

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Flol! Have you taken that tape off the back of your shoe yet sailor! Still makes me laugh that you fell for that one!
  28. NorthloopCup

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Yeah that's what I thought anyway tbh phil, but thanks for the input. What do you drive with yours set to then? 3/4's? On the 16's I run in between 1/4 and 1/2 with a 320mm steering wheel.
  29. NorthloopCup

    EPAS on 172 Cup

Mine feels more like its the toe out causing the wandering tbh. It's only really noticeable on the 16's when the assistance is turned up as well.
  30. NorthloopCup

    EPAS on 172 Cup

If you turn the assistance level down on the epas you get much better feel Fred, or at least that's what I've found. With the 16's and road tyres on the car is driven with a very small amount of assistance, but on the 15's and 888's I run it the same level as James does - full assistance. I...
