I know its not what you want to do but if it was my cash if you desperately had to do it I'd buy a rep, run it for two years THEN get a sport - you'll have saved so much money in those few years you could probably skip the 1*2 completely and end up with a 197!
It might be just me but unless I've known a car I buy for a while it's irrelevant to me if it's had it's belts done or not in the book I ALWAYS shell out and have them done.
All turinis will fit all 1*2 Variants.
The widest will be the aftermaket ones, then the cup ones, then the trophy.
If you're planning on doing some stupid lowering then the trophy ones would be the best bet.

Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I've been tempted myself to change all the hoses, I can see as youy say a couple of them being a pain when everythings in situ.
I've got replacements but he needed to bring a whole load of them out to find which I needed.
He gave them me too which doesn't help!
All I know is the one on the right is easy enough but the one on the left had a box I needed to cut off to get the correct labels.
I've had them on my williams and my current 172
I like em!
They're brilliant in the rain and the dry but go off a bit when the weather hits really low and minus numbers but to be fair thats the same with any tyre of its type.
Cheers Riley :)
I know I know but there will always be that day when you need to desperately and you can't do anything about it, and people look and point at your rear seats... - I've been tempted to take them out altogether and put some carpet in but I don't know how long I could cope!
