Love all the 'you've runined it' comments :)
I've seen more 'ruined' cars with a wheel change than a swap of exhaust tips! I've also seen a load of so called 'upgrade' exhausts that butcher holes in the bumpers and melt it every time it clangs over a bump due to ace fitting and extensive use of...
I know what you mean, I've saved that many iceberg turini pictures I need a new hard drive!
I think after the williams the 172 will never look as good as the 172, wierdly the more I look at the 172 wheels the more I love them, they work really well on the silver, the car looks so fresh to me...
Sound like a bargain! I'd be interested to hear a more long term review of them. one thing I love coming from the mk1s is the nice comfy ride with the 172, just doesn't handle as well as the willy did though, was considering some coilovers at standardish height to help this but don't want to...

When you got yours I was like coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
Always a pleasure to see it parked up at your works! I still had the valver then, oh how times have changed!
That may be your opinion but mine is very different - I didn't think the 172 driven hard gave away much to the cup at all - if anything it was far more suited to the s**t roads I was pasting down than the cup, cup wasn't very graceful over the bumps whereas the 172 was planted and stable through...
ahh but did you drive ALL the variants to come to that conclusion? or did you take into consideration also peoples opinions?
I think your right though, maybe we all justify our hard earned purchases so we're a little happier in our decisions!
I drove a cup, a 182 cup packs and a 172 before...
Funny how people with a particular car defend it and dismiss others - not having a pop here just an observation, cup drivers dismiss the extras and non essentials and play on the 'rawness' of the car, trophy drivers play on the handling and rarity, 182 cuppers say its the best all-rounder and...
