So after a couple of months of having absolutely no motivation to get the Clio back together due to an oil leak, the engine is finally back in and touch wood oil leak free so far!
Still some little bits to sort out, but hoping to get out on track later this year (cheap winter track days ftw😝)...
If you want a ‘budget’ tyre I’d recommend the TR1 far better than the outgoing t1r, plenty of grip in the wet and dry. But if budget isn’t an issue Pilot sport 4 all day long
I’d def be trying to get it to EFI, I could’ve taken mine to ktec but don’t like the fact they get RS tuning to write the maps. At least with Chris he’s doing that in front of you
If you drove like all the time on a ‘proper’ track I doubt you’d make it past 10am before being black flagged. And tuition isn’t just to ‘make you Lewis Hamilton‘ it’s to make you safer and quicker for yourself and the people you’re sharing the track with.
Sorry for the thread revival but how does the fan mount to one of these rads? I can’t for the life of me work it out, unless I need to order some extra hardware to fit it?
Anybody got any tips for installing the rear main seal? Mine started leaking after driving on the road for the first time, so it’s all apart again awaiting a new seal.
I will have 2x sparco sprint seats for sale in the next week already mounted on OMP frames. From memory they’re also on sliding rails. Looking for around £350. If interested pm me and I’ll get some pics sorted and over to you. (They’re at my dads)
And the results are in, 185bhp (well 184.9😅) and 170lbft of torque!
Bit of a fraught day in the end though, Chris got a it on the rollers and it immediately cut out. Long story short the lambda sensor wiring melted and shorted on the exhaust. Not too much of an issue as he deleted the sensor out...
So a little update. Roll cage is now fitted and looking good. Need to get a harness bar welded into it soon but will worry about that another day.
After what feels like an eternity it’s mapping day tomorrow!! Excited to see what she makes on EFI’s dyno, but drive ability is far more important...
So today on my 172 changed the oil and then gave it gentle drive down the road (still on unmapped group n timing) came back and it died, and wouldn’t restart.
I found the fuel pump fuse blown, and it blows as soon as the ignition is on (would be priming) I’ve ruled out the wiring and the relay...
I’ll get some pics of how I’ve done it. Managed to get the fuse box to sit in the standard place and with a bit of manipulation of the bracket got the uch in standard location albeit at a totally different angle.
