Replaced my ball joint on the car tonight and gave it a quick spanner check in prep for Thursdays track night. Took my pads out to remove the anti rattle shims from the carriers, and I'm genuinely amazed at how little I've used of my RC5's. They've seen 2 half day sessions and one or two nights...
Good stuff mate, need to get a nose around it on Thursday lol. Think there's a supposed to be a proper photographer there so maybe hopefully get some videos too!
Flol! I never managed to witness this, was always out on track at the time. My MOT today revealed I knackered a ball joint from riding said curbs too though. We'll never learn.
Yep! Really looking forward to Thursday. Weather seems like it'll be fairly good too which is a bonus!
How'd the car go yesterday mate? Was meaning to come up but ended up a little bit hungover to drive lol!
More Clio people need to bring more Clio car spares with them next time for when Scottish people inevitably break down and need to buy/borrow parts to get home 😂😂😂
On a serious note though, no complaints here. The day and night were awesome. A band again next...
Cheers Russ, I'll probably be in touch at some point for some powerflex bushes. Did notice on your website you had a 5-10 day lead time on wishbones though. Was one of the places I checked for prices when considering them lol.
Will have to see how quickly Renault can get me them. Probably just...
Aye, that's my thinking too. Had been considering poly bushing a set if I could pick up cup ones but new bushes will probably still be an improvement!
Only problem is it needs done for Thursday lol!
Not much of an update, but I just got the car back from its MOT. Passed apart from an advisory for a ball joint. Current one on there has only seen about 3k miles, changed it back in February or thereabouts. Think it was lemforder so not really a cheap make, but I'm unsure now whether or not to...
Actuator moves fine yeah. EGR has also been cleaned out, tried disconnected etc so that's ruled out as well.
Not sure if he's tried a different map sensor in it, but the live data off it doesn't point towards it being dodgy
May be having a r****d moment here but how would putting something on the inlet reach the vacuum lines? I thought the vacuum setup on a diesel just came from the vac pump?
It was tested to see if it was holding a vacuum when it was getting it's RR runs. Holds a vacuum fine apparently (I wasn't there at the time, but my dad was and it's his van).
And the smoke from it is surprisingly minimal. I thought it seemed short on boost though tbh. Its making 1 bar...
Well, this isn't a clio, but there's a good knowledge base on here so thought it was worth asking anyway.
Its a vauxhall vivaro van, but I believe it's the same engine as in the laguna dci, 100hp one.
Basically it has no low down torque at all. It almost drives like a petrol. So far we have...
Settings > display and lights > switch on ambient display.
That's how it's done on my OPO anyway. Will also turn on the display if you pick the phone up off a desk or something to look at it. Only downside is it constantly monitors sensors for that so can use up battery.
Personally I prefer...
Aye, never thought about a disclaimer actually! Think there might've been other factors he mentioned. Was a while back now, but from what I can remember he just seemed a bit fed up of people coming in and wanting this and that, then changing their mind halfway through a setup and stuff.
Yup! I went in a few months back to get mine done and he said he'd given up doing custom setups. Not worth the hassle apparently. Was getting too many mongs in wanting track setups and then they were coming back and moaning when the inside of their tyres had worn away from constant road use with...
Good job you went to CLCM, pro-grip have stopped doing custom alignment!
Oh also, you got cup wishbones on that? Just looking at the caster angles there compared to mine.
Ok so everyone coming along tonight try and be there between about half 6 and 7. The back row of parking I've marked on the map below usually always has a good bit of space and isn't miles away, so aim for there.
Will do mate, be up for a wander about on the Saturday anyways but will probably just set up camp somewhere round the track on the Sunday and stay there. Really hoping the weather clears for it, then again, makes for more exciting racing if it's wet!
What would you recommend for a prewash Kev? I like using snowfoam, but I'm ideally just looking for some way to keep touch washes to an absolute minimum on my civic after I give it a going over with the DA as the paint is so soft on it. So open to suggestions really.
What snowfoam does everyone rate? I still haven't found any that removes as much as magifoam, but I'm keen to try something else because magifoam doesn't appear to be stocked by many of the usual online shops (CYC, i4detailing etc.) and it's a pain at times like this when I'm looking to buy a...
