    ive a Ph1 172, when my speedo stopped it was the sendor ontop of the gearbox, tucked down my the manifold.

    ok driving me crazy now, the seat handle to tip the seat forwards keeps coming off on my Ph1. whats the trick to fitting it back on. the handle and the plug are all intact, it just keeps falling off gggrrrrr

    Knocking noise in 1st & 2nd, which mount?

    Ive a slight knocking noise when pulling away in 1st and 2nd, which mount is it likely to be? upper gearbox or the dog bone. car has 70k on clock and i reckon both are originals. which would be the likely culprit, or what are the symptoms of each wearing out and il try and diagnose cheers

    Spotted trophy in the traffic outside, waved i was in the sunflower, also a Black 1*2 on the grid line up, RB with stripes tucked away in a side carpark and a yellow 200 in the centre shelter stands good meet loads of nice cars, Veyron still looks great in the flesh

    TDC Sensor - europcar pat no?

    anyone know the part number for a Ph1 172 tdc sensor? i hear they do one that wont require the loom to be changed like the new Renault ones do, but my local branch werent much help or anyone know anyone else that does one that will plug straight in rather than chop about?

    Central locking problem.

    if i recall correctly, get in the car, hold down the locking switch for a couple of seconds and the immob' light will come on, press the key and it should re synch.

    I want to check my engine / gearbox mounts i have a slight vibration when pulling away hard in 1st and from threads the top engine and upper gearbox mounts are possible options. given i've a Ph1 there is every chance they are still originals, so the weekend looks good so thought i would brave...

    'Clio', 'Renault' and 'Sport' Badge removal and spray help?

    my PH1 only the 'sport' badge was stuck on with tape, so use the floss on this. the 'renault' & 'clio' badges both have pins through the boot lid, take off the inner boot trim and you can push them back through and hey presto badges pop off to stick back on, halfords sell bumper trim tape...

    from experience i have run both a supercharger and a turbo on the sam engine, all be it not a clio, but in a vectra SRi the centrafugal supercharger needed mpre revs that a T34 turbo to boost up, dont alway acept the 'logic' that a supercharger develops smooth seemless power low down, from...

    its all in the prep, plenty of prep and the final coats will go on fine, as above get decent paint not halfords and you'll be ok, just take it easy in all the nooks and cranys, lots of light coats
