    Put the cat back and and get a centre silencer fitted. Quieten it down a good bit.

    Windy gun ftw! Whips them straight off. I had a nightmare trying to get mine off with Allen keys and a spanner.

    More expensive then? I had one fitted to my 172 and it's the best exhaust system I've ever bought. The build quality, fitment and sound were brilliant.

    Peeling paint doesn't mean they are buggered. As said above clean them up, quick lick of hammerite and fire them on.

    Sorry on the centre silencer. The metal washer that was on the shield has corroded away.

    Had this problem on my 172 and it turned out to be the heat shield hitting the exhaust.

    From Renault they should be red rubber instead of the older ones which had black rubber.

    You will love the BTB mate. I had their stealth system fitted to my 172 and the fitment and sound were excellent really second to none.

    If that was local to me I would already have that bought. As John said above £750 is a cheap but also fair price.
