To me Chip a fully forged F4RT engine means having the crank balanced along with the bores machined to accept bigger pistons and other bits & pieces which are beyond my mechanical knowledge of cars and is clearly your expertise. This was recommended to me by Paul from RS Tuning when I enquired...
I'm not saying you don't know your onions Chip but personally I would just get the engine fully forged if I was going down the route of changing pistons etc. I won't be running mega power to warrant changing pistons either. I did mention I would like 300 bhp but in reality I probably won't get...
Love it mate. Are the rear arches rust free? Noisy power steering is quite common a fluid change makes a little difference but your better changing the pump. What's your plans for it?
Plus the price of the pistons then there is labour. If I was to do that I may as well go the full hog and have the engine fully forged, balanced etc which doesn't really appeal to me because of the price. If I did have the money on the other hand then it would be a different story haha
Because I can't justify the 4k+ price for a fully forged engine and I won't be going anywhere over 300 bhp so the rods and bolts will do me fine especially at the price paul is doing them for.
Yeah seen on meganesport that the standard injectors are on there limit on stage 2 so uprated...
Only thing I'm missing from that list is the turbo, decat, uprated injectors & rod bolts lol.
I'm booked in at rs tuning to have Manley rods & arp bolts fitted in October then I'll probs go down the Siemens injectors with an Itg kit and another map. How loud is your exhaust with the decat?. My...
It's more the rods that are the weak point with F4rt engine hence why I'm getting forged rods fitted to my megane. Paul at rs tuning says the pistons should run 300+ bhp with the right mapping.
Genuine Renault ones are about £45 each better off with them. The rears on the trophy aren't actually Sachs either they are the same as 172/182 rear cup shocks.
You booked in to have it done? I'm sorely tempted not just to get more power but puts my mind at rest that there is no risk of the rods failing like the standard items.
