Could it be that the brakes were just cold ? When i brake for the first time in the moring they are sh*t the after a few brakes they are pin sharp.

1. Am only going to do a hi flow panal ait filter and thats about it. What is the bhp for fitting a ful system and does it up the speed of the car in terms of quicknes . 2. Was looking at fitting it myself but had a look under the car and can not see where the system ends and the back box...

I need a little help on wether or not to fit a full k tec system. What is the dif from the old system. I no that the gass flow is faster but what does this mean in the real world ? Not going to change the cat or air box for ik but what would the full system do is it worth the £ 300 or not ?

Would take viper off untill you get a new chip or re map. Had a viper on my old 206 gti and it fu*ked the car up big time. Oil was cream e cut out on me lots and mpg was sh*t. Put a hi flow panal filter in and car was running better than ever quicker faster and a lot more happppppppppy.

Try some fuel cleaner in it . My sis old 106 did the same and when she used some fuel cleaner it was fine. D tox halfords £ 14.99 . [Edited by mr bognor on 05 May 2004 at 6:51pm]

Thats why i drive a 172 mk1 with abs and 4 air bags .

Red dot do a 20 groove disc for £ 187 on demon tweeks but with pads as well you looking at £ 290 ish just for the front . How are the cup brakes would scare the sh*t out of me with no abs the mad french g*ts jack up the power and then do away with the abs ?????????????

Saw a k tec full cat back and said a + of 8 bhp . Sounds a bit to good but with a green cotton air filter ( a panal air box one ) + 5 bhp sounds about right .

What will the bhp be on my mk 1 172 if i have a green freeflow cotton air filter and k tec full cat back. Will it be pushing out 177 a gain of 5 bhp ?

Smart want a viper very bad had one on the old 206 gti but it fu*k up the block as i put it on without any other mods . Have you one on that sweet red 172 and is it good ?

Is there a of the shelf ecu that i can buy and fit myself for my mk 172. i have seen the pig e back ones and superchips ones cos i would like to get a viper but was told not to get one without geting a new ecu or remap .

Yer doen all that it said in book but on cold air ( not that i need in in this wether) is still under warranti so not a prob just thought it may be somthing simple thanks all

Hi to all . Have a problem with the air con on mk 1 172 IT DONT WORK. Have pushed all the buttons and little light comes on on the button but get no cold air is it a fault or am i being really thick

Viceroy did you do it yourself ? And Yeecup if the cat is so hard to get off how about just the cat back ?
