Adjusting your driving will have an marked effect on fuel efficiency. Losing a few kgs will have limited (if any) effect.

Must read the book to see what they're supposed to do. It appears that the come on once in the morning and then and random times throughout the day based on how hard you are cornering/braking. Doesn't appear to be based on things like water on the screen - which If I'd been the designer...

That's easy. You click the wipers to the first position and if nothing happens for 3 days - you have auto wipers ;)
